우즈벡 국립수자원공사인 ‘우즈브타미노’·타슈켄트시 등과 물 인프라·서비스 현대화 합의

우즈브타미노, 7년간 1억4천200만 유로 투입키로 

프랑스의 글로벌 물기업인 수에즈(SUEZ)가 우즈베키스탄 수도인 타슈켄트의 물 인프라 및 서비스 현대화를 위해 획기적인 계약을 체결, 우즈베키스탄의 전략적 파트너가 된다.

SUEZ는 11월 22일 우즈베키스탄의 국립수자원공사인 ‘우즈브타미노(Uzsuvtaminot)를 비롯해 타슈켄트시, 대외무역투자부(Ministry of Investment of Foreign Trade)와 물 분야 획기적인 협약을 체결했다.

이번 협정은 우즈베키스탄의 수도 타슈켄트의 상하수도 사업이 시행되는 것을 의미한다. 또한, 물 인프라와 서비스를 현대화하기 위해 우즈베키스탄 당국의 신뢰할 수 있는 전략적 파트너로서 SUEZ의 위치를 강화하는 것이다.

이번 협약은 샤브카트 미르지요예프(Shavkat Mirziyoyev) 우즈베키스탄 대통령이 프랑스 파리 방문의 틀에서 SUEZ와 파트너인 우즈베키스탄의 국립수자원공사인 ‘우즈브타미노(Uzsuvtaminot)’를 비롯해 타슈켄트시, 대외무역투자부와 협약이 체결했다.

이러한 합의는 디지털 솔루션과 최신 기술을 통해 타슈켄트시의 물 및 위생 네트워크를 최고의 국제 표준으로 현대화하는 것을 목표로 하는 SUEZ의 국내 개척 프로젝트의 시작을 가능하게 할 것이다.

7년간 1억4천200만 유로(약 1천988억5천만 원) 규모의 계약으로 수질개선과 일류 고객 서비스 구현을 통해 수도권 시민들의 만족도와 삶의 질이 크게 향상될 예정이다.

수에즈는 또한 ‘수에즈 우즈베키스탄 워터 아카데미(SUEZ Uzbekistan Water Academy)’에서 수백 명의 전문가들을 양성함으로써 차세대 우즈벡 대표 매니저와 물 전문가들을 육성할 예정이다.

이 프로젝트는 또한 80만 개의 스마트 수도계량기를 포함하여 타슈켄트시의 수자원 장비 산업 생산의 현지화로 지역 경제에 기여하고 지식 이전을 촉진한다.

또한, 포괄적인 전략적 파트너십 서명을 통해 SUEZ는 이제 국가 차원에서 물 서비스를 업그레이드하고 확장하는 ‘우즈브타미노(Uzsuvtaminot)’를 지원한다.

우즈브타미노는 2025년까지 62개의 물과 위생 분야 프로젝트를 총 50억 유로(약 7조16억 5천만 원)에 집행할 계획이다. 야심찬 프로젝트 포트폴리오를 감안할 때 SUEZ는 숙련된 상주 팀을 동원하여 프로젝트의 국가 계획, 설계, 모니터링 및 실행뿐만 아니라 시운전 및 효율성 제어를 매일 지원기로 했다.

이와함께 수르산다리아(Surxandarya) 지역의 상수도 개선을 위한 공동개발 협정도 체결되어 이 지역의 물 인프라에 대한 중요한 투자 프로젝트가 개발될 수 있는 발판을 마련했다.

수에즈의 사브리나 수산(Sabrina Soussan) 회장 겸 CEO는 “우즈베키스탄 당국이 인구를 위한 물 서비스 접근성을 개선하고 탄력적이고 혁신적인 솔루션으로 지역 경제 발전에 기여할 수 있도록 지원하게 되어 기쁘다”고 말했다.

수산 회장은 특히,“우리는 중앙아시아 전역에서 대표적인 프로젝트를 선보이는 등 우즈베키스탄 물 분야의 이러한 국가적 변혁이 성공할 수 있도록 최선을 다하고 있다. 이러한 다양한 계약은 고객이 환경문제를 해결할 수 있도록 지원하고 전략적 로드맵의 핵심인 국제 개발을 강화할 수 있는 전용 솔루션을 만드는 능력을 보여주겠다”고 강조했다.

SUEZ launches its landmark contract in Tashkent and becomes the strategic partner of Uzbek authorities in water

On November 22nd, 2022, SUEZ signed landmark agreements with its Uzbek partners, the National Water Company “Uzsuvtaminot”, the Municipality of Tashkent and the Ministry of Investment of Foreign Trade. 

The agreements mark the coming into force of  the capital city Tashkent water and sanitation project. Furthermore, they strengthen SUEZ’s position as the trusted strategic partner of Uzbek authorities for modernizing its water infrastructures and services.

In the framework of the visit of the Uzbek president in Paris, several agreements have been signed between SUEZ and its partners: the National Water Company “Uzsuvtaminot”, the Municipality of Tashkent and the Ministry of Investment of Foreign Trade.

Firstly, these agreements will allow the start of SUEZ’s pioneer project in the country aiming at modernizing Tashkent’s water and sanitation networks up to the highest international standards, through digital solutions and the most up to date technologies.

With this 7-year contract worth €142 million, citizen satisfaction and quality of life in the Capital will be greatly enhanced through the improvement of water quality and the implementation of first-class customer services. 

SUEZ will also raise the next generation of Uzbek leading managers and water specialists, by training hundreds of professionals in the “SUEZ Uzbekistan Water Academy”. 

The project will moreover contribute to the local economy and foster knowledge transfer with the localization of the industrial production of water equipment in Tashkent, including 800 thousand smart meters.

Additionally, with the signature of a comprehensive strategic partnership, SUEZ will now support Uzsuvtaminot, the National water company, in upgrading and expanding water services at a national level. 

Uzsuvtaminot has planned the execution of 62 projects in the water and sanitation sector until 2025 for a total amount of €5 billion. Given the ambitious portfolio of projects, SUEZ will mobilize an experienced resident team to assist on a daily basis in the national planning, design, monitoring and execution of the projects as well as their commissioning and the control of their efficiency.

Finally, a joint Development Agreement has also been concluded for the improvement of water supply in the Surxandarya region, which will pave the way for the development of a significant investment project into this region’s water infrastructure.
