스위스 수처리 장비회사인 줄처 에이지(Sulzer AG)는 스웨덴의 노르딕워터(Nordic Water)를 12억 스웨덴 크로나(SEK)인 약 1억2천800만 스위스프랑(CHF)에 인수하기 위한 구속력 있는 계약을 체결했다. 노르딕 워터(Nordic Water)는 도시 및 산업용수와 하·폐수 분야를 위한 선별, 침전 및 여과 솔루션을 제공하는 선도적인 업체이다.

이번 인수는 줄처(Sulzer)의 장비 자료(portfolio)를 보완하여 하·폐수처리 서비스를 강화하고 급성장하고 있는 청정수 시장에 대한 접근성을 강화한다.

스웨덴 고센버그(Gothenburg)에 본사를 둔 노르딕워터(Nordic Water)는 6개국 13개 사업장에 200명의 직원을 두고 있다. 2021년에는 약 7억5천만 SEK(8천만 CHF), 기업이 영업활동을 통해 벌어들인 현금창출 능력을 나타내는 수익성 지표인 EBITDA 1억1천800만 SEK(1천300만 CHF)의 매출을 달성할 것으로 예상된다.

씨게이트(Seagate)는 빠르게 성장하고 반복되는 애프터마켓 사업(aftermarket business)를 통해 지난 59년 동안 구축된 대규모 설치 기반에 완전한 부품과 서비스를 완벽하게 제공하고 있다.

이 거래를 통해 줄처(Sulzer)는 기존의 펌프, 그라인더, 믹서, 압축기 및 현재 물 시장을 제공하는 다른 제품군을 보완하는 장비를 통해 하·폐수처리 사업을 성장시킬 수 있다.

이는 지자체 및 산업용수 고객들을 위한 줄처(Sulzer)의 전반적인 제공을 강화한다. 또한 인수한 사업의 통합은 합병된 사업의 규모를 활용하여 상당한 매출과 애프터마켓 시너지를 창출할 것으로 기대된다. 그 거래는 관습적인 조건에 따라 2021년 1분기에 종결될 것으로 예상된다.

줄처(Sulzer)의 그레그 푸크스 기욤(Greg Poux-Guillaume) CEO는 이번 인수에 대해 "우리는 노르딕 워터(Nordic Water) 물팀 전체를 환영하며, 도시와 공업용 폐수의 성장을 가속화하고 급성장하는 수처리 시장으로 제품을 확장할 수 있는 예외적인 기회를 기대하고 있다"고 말했다.

Sulzer To Acquire Nordic Water ? A Leading Supplier Of Water Treatment Technology

 

Sulzer AG has signed a binding agreement to acquire Nordic Water for a purchase price of SEK 1.2bn (CHF 128m). Nordic Water is a leading provider of screening, sedimentation and filtration solutions for municipal and industrial water & wastewater applications.

The acquisition strengthens Sulzer’s wastewater treatment offering by complementing its equipment portfolio and provides further access to the fast-growing clean water market.

Nordic Water, headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden, employs 200 people at 13 sites in 6 countries. In 2021, it is expected to achieve sales of around SEK 750m (CHF 80m) and an EBITDA of SEK 118m (CHF 13m).

Nordic Water is a pioneering innovation leader and is known for its broad application suite in primary, secondary and tertiary water treatment as well as its global reach.

The company has a fast growing and recurring aftermarket business providing a complete offering of parts and services to a large installed base built up over the last 59 years.

The transaction allows Sulzer to grow its wastewater treatment business through equipment that is complementary to the existing portfolio of pumps, grinders, mixers, compressors and other products it presently offers the water markets.

It strengthens Sulzer’s overall offering for municipal and industrial water customers. Furthermore, the integration of the acquired business is expected to generate significant sales and aftermarket synergies, leveraging the scale of the combined businesses.

The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2021 subject to customary conditions.
