독일 전기전자 업체 지멘스가 2014년까지 친환경 제품 관련 매출을 400억 유로(520억 달러)까지 늘이기로 한 당초 목표를 고수하고 있다고 독일 경제 일간지 한 델스브랏트(Handelsblatt)가 지멘스 경영 이사회원 바바라 쿡스의 인터뷰를 인용보도 했다.

한델스브랏트는 지멘스의 자회사 오스람의 처분으로 인해 달성이 쉽지 않게 된 이번 목표를 이루려면 지멘스가 향후 연 10퍼센 트 이상의 성장률을 보여야 한다고 보도했다. 한델스브랏트의 보도에 따르면 현재 지멘스의‘그린 제품’관련 매출은 299억 유로이다.

쿡스는 인터뷰를 통해 올해 남아프리카 공화국에서 체결된 더반 기후협약이 2020년까지 온실가스를 감축한다는 내용의 새로운 협정을 확정 짓지 못했음에도 불구하고 친환경 기술시장이 잠재력을 가지고 있다고 말했다고 한델스브랏트는 보도했다.

Siemens AG is sticking to its target to increase sales from environmentally friendly products to 40billion euros ($52 billion) by 2014, Handelsblatt said, citing an interview with executive board member Barbara Kux.

The goal, which becomes more ambitious with the disposal of Siemens’s lighting unit Osram, means that the company will have to grow the business more than 10percent a year, the German newspaper reported.

Siemens now has sales of 29.9 billion euros from socalled green products, Handelsblatt  said.
Kux said the market for such technologies exists even though the Durban climate deal reached in South Africa this year failed to fix new commitments to curtail greenhouse gases by 2020, the newspaper reported.
