원유 및 가스, 화학, 물산업 분야의 유압 재활용 전문기업인 Energy Recovery사가 자사의 혁신적인 에너지 재생장치인 PX 압력변환기술을 아부다비의 미르파(Mirfa) 메가 담수화 플랜트 프로젝트에 제공할 계획이라고 발표했다.

미르파 플랜트는 하루 13만6천㎥의 생산용량을 가지며, UAE의 에너지 재생을 위한 가장 큰 담수화 플랜트로 Fujairah 1 확장이다.

 

 

 

Energy Recovery, Inc. (NASDAQ: ERII), a specialist in recycling fluid pressure in the oil and gas, chemical and water industries, has announced that it will provide its PX Pressure Exchanger technology, an innovative energy-recovery device, to the Mirfa mega desalination plant project in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE). 

 

The Mirfa plant has a production capacity of 136,000 cubic meters per day, making the Fujairah 1 Expansion the largest desalination plant for Energy Recovery in the UAE.

 

Power demand in Abu Dhabi is growing at a rate of more than 10 percent per year, while water consumption is projected to rise from 880 million imperial gallons per day (MGD) currently to 1.15 MGD by 2021 as a result of new industrial developments and a fast-growing population.

 

Every year in the UAE alone, Energy Recovery's technology helps produce 405,818,685 liters of water per day and preserves 470,671,591 kWh of energy and $47,067,159 in cost savings. In the country, these savings amount to 324,552 metric tons of carbon dioxide.

 

After the new technology is fully integrated to the Mirfa plant, the project will have total power generating capacity of 1,600 megawatts and the capacity to deliver nearly 240,000 cubic meters of drinking water per day. This is equivalent to taking about 70,000 vehicles off of the road permanently.
