OMI WINS COVETED MALCOLM BALDRIGE NATIONAL QUALITY AWARD
DENVER (November 21, 2000) - Operations Management International, Inc. (OMI) was notified today that the company will receive the 2000 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the nation¡¯s premier award for performance excellence and quality achievement.

One of four Baldrige Award winners, OMI is the only company this year in the service category to win. President Clinton is expected to present the Baldrige Award to OMI at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. in December.
"OMI began its quality journey in 1990 when we initiated our Obsessed With Quality process. Winning the Baldrige Award demonstrates how our quality process continues to positively affect the millions of lives our people touch through the daily provision of superior utility management services," says OMI President Don S. Evans, P.E. "My thanks to all OMI associates for a job well done."

Named after a former Secretary of Commerce, the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award is an annual award that recognizes U.S. organizations for performance excellence. It is the highest-level quality award given in the United States. The Baldrige Award evaluates organizations on seven performance excellence criteria: leadership, strategic planning, customer and market focus, information and analysis, human resource focus, process management, and performance and business results. OMI uses that criteria as a cornerstone for its Obsessed With Quality process.

OMI¡¯s Obsessed With Quality process focuses on empowering associates to develop new approaches to enhance how they perform their jobs. The company¡¯s mission is summarized in its E3 motto: Exceed customers¡¯ expectations, empower people and enhance the environment?three main goals that illustrate how OMI does business every day.
"At OMI, quality isn¡¯t something we just talk about; it¡¯s the way we do business," says OMI Vice President of Quality and Technology Roger B. Quayle. "For our customers that means lower costs, world-class quality, amazing service and long-term relationships."

OMI is a leader in the management and operation of water and wastewater systems, providing a wide range of privatization and outsourcing solutions for customers in government and industry. A member of the American, employee-owned CH2M HILL Companies, Ltd., OMI offers complete infrastructure development, financing, design, and operations and maintenance services. Headquartered in Denver, the company manages 160 water and wastewater facilities in the Americas, Middle East and Asia.
