[미국] 수에즈, 로드 아일랜드 운소컷시 물관리 계약

프랑스의 글로벌 물기업인 수에즈(Suez)는 AECOM 기술 서비스 및 CH Nickerson & Company와 함께 미국 로드 아일랜드(Rhode Island)의 운소컷(Woonsocket)시의 새로운 식수 시설을 설계, 건설 및 운영하기 위해 계약을 맺었다.

이 프로젝트는 주정부 규정에 따라 수질을 개선하기 위한 도시 지역의 종합 계획의 일부이다. 수에즈(Suez)는 건설 기간 동안 기존 공장에서 서비스의 연속성을 보장하고 20년간 5,300만 달러의 신규 수처리 공장을 운영 및 유지 관리한다.

디자인, 건축 및 운영 계약에 따라 AECOM 기술 서비스는 플랜트 설계 및 엔지니어링은 물론 프로젝트 계획 및 지침을 담당하게 된다.  CH Nickerson & Company는 시공 작업을 수행한다. 건설 후 Suez는 주정부 및 연방 환경 규정에 따라 새로운 수처리 플랜트와 원수 펌프 스테이션을 운영할 계획이다.

운소컷(Woonsocket)시 시장인 리사 발데리 헌트(Lisa Baldelli-Hunt)는 "이 새로운 수처리 시설은 오랫동안 시에서 추진해 왔다”면서 "우리 시는 고객이 기대하는 최고 품질의 물을 생산할 수 있는 새로운 정수장을 짓기 위해 열심히 노력하고 있다"라고 말했다.

리사 발데리 헌트(Lisa Baldelli-Hunt) 시장은 이어 “파트너는 Woonsocket 거주자를 위한 수처리 서비스 제공을 감독하는 시 공공사업부와 연락 할 것”이라면서 “시는 플랜트 및 급수 네트워크뿐만 아니라 통제 비율 설정을 포함한 수도 시스템을 계속 소유하게 될 것”이라고 말했다.

이 프로젝트를 통해 Woonsocket시는 시설을 효율적으로 운영하고, 적절한 수처리를 보장하며, 지역 사회의 물 기반 시설을 개선하고 주민들을 위한 서비스 제공을 향상시킬 수 있다.

Suez secures water management contract for city of Woonsocket, Rhode Island

Suez along with its partners AECOM Technical Services and C.H. Nickerson have secured a contract from the City of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, US to design, build and operate a new drinking water facility.

The project is part of the municipality’s comprehensive plan to improve water quality, in line with the State’s regulations. Suez will ensure the continuity of service at the existing plant during construction work and will then operate and maintain the new water treatment plant for a period of 20 years and an amount of $53m.

Under the Design, Build and Operate contract, AECOM Technical Services will be in charge of the plant design and engineering as well as the planning and guidance for the project. C.H. Nickerson & Company will perform the construction work. Following construction, Suez will operate the new water treatment plant and a raw water pump station, in line with the State and federal environmental regulations.

Woonsocket Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt said: “This new water treatment facility has been a long time coming for the City.

“We are eager to break ground on a brand new plant that will produce the highest quality of water that our customers expect.”

The partners will liaise with the City’s Department of Public Works, which is responsible for overseeing the provision of water treatment services for the residents of Woonsocket. The City will continue to own the water system, including the plant and distribution network, as well as control rate setting.

This project will enable the City of Woonsocket to operate the facility efficiently, ensure adequate water treatment, improve the community’s water infrastructure and enhance service provision for its inhabitants.

This contract is a new reference for Suez in Rhode Island and the northern United States. The Group provides water and wastewater management services to 7.3 inhabitants every day throughout North America.
