[미국] 폴리세라, 나노여과막 개발 가속화 위해 900만 달러 확보

멤브레인 기술 회사인 폴리세라 멤브레인(PolyCera Membranes)은 글로벌 멤브레인 제조, 연구 개발 및 판매 역량을 구축하기 위해 즉각적인 투자를 할 수 있는 900만 달러의 ‘시리즈 A(Series A)’ 기금 마련을 완료했다.

‘Series A’ 자금 조달 라운드는 카이롯 벤쳐(Kairos Ventures)가 블루스템 캐피탈(Bluestem Capital)과 월펜그룹(Wolfen Group)이 워터 플래닛(Water Planet)을 통한 PolyCera의 기존 투자자 2인이 제공한 자본에 따라 진행되었다.

이 소식은 블루 플래닛(Blue Planet)이 PolyCera 멤브레인 제품 라인을 별도의 자회사를 운영하여 생산할 계획이다.

이 회사는 이 자금을 남부 캘리포니아의 본사 근처에 있는 제조 능력에 투자하고 나노 여과 및 역삼투 제품의 개발 및 상업화를 신속하게 추진할 계획이다.

노벨상을 수상한 화학물질로 제작되고 유기금속 재료로 제조된 PolyCera 멤브레인은 2016 년 11월에 출시될 때 즉시 시장을 확보하게 되었다.

PolyCera는 현재 3개 대륙에 80개 이상 설치되어 있으며, 6개 대륙에서 27개의 시설이 완성단계에 있다.

PolyCera secures $9m to fast-track nanofiltration membrane development

Membrane technology company PolyCera® Membranes has completed a $9 million Series A funding round that will enable the company to make immediate investments to build out its global manufacturing, R&D and sales capabilities.

The Series A funding round was led by Kairos Ventures with follow on capital provided by Bluestem Capital and the Wolfen Group ? two of PolyCera’s existing investors through Water Planet.

The news follows Blue Planet spinning out its PolyCera membrane product line into a separate subsidiary operating company.

The company intends to use the funds to invest in manufacturing capabilities near its headquarters in Southern California and fast-track development and commercialization of its nanofiltration and reverse osmosis products.

Engineered with Nobel Prize winning chemistry and made of an organic metal material, PolyCera membranes gained immediate market traction upon their launch in November 2016.

PolyCera now has more than 80 installations on three continents up and running as well as 27 live trials on six continents in various stages of completion.
