[두바이] DEWA, 세계최대 단일부지 민자 태양광 발전소 입찰

‘모하메드 빈 라시드 알 막툼 솔라파크’ 6단계 컨설팅 계약 위해 국제 기업들로부터 4건의 입찰 받아

두바이수전력청(DEWA ; Dubai Electricity and Water Authority)은 오는 2030년까지 5천MW(메가와트)의 생산능력을 갖춘 세계 최대 단일 부지 태양광 발전소인 모하메드 빈 라시드 알 막툼 솔라파크(Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park) 6단계 컨설팅 계약을 위해 국제기업으로부터 4건의 입찰을 받았다고 9월 6일 밝혔다. 모하메드 빈 라시드 알 막툼 솔라파크의 6단계 생산능력은 900MW가 된다.

DEWA의 HE 사이드 모하메드 알 타이어(HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer) MD 겸 CEO는 “DEWA는 아랍에미리트(UAE)의 부통령이자 총리이며 두바이 국왕인 셰이크 모하메드 빈 라시드 알 막툼((Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum)의 지시에 따라 2050년까지 청정 에너지원에서 총 전력 용량의 100%를 제공하는 ‘두바이 탄소중립 전략 2050(Dubai Net Zero Emissions Strategy 2050)’을 달성하도록 노력하고 있다”고 말했다.

모하메드 알 타이어 CEO는 이어 “모하메드 빈 라시드 알 막툼 솔라파크의 프로젝트는 출범 이후 글로벌 개발자들로부터 상당한 관심을 받고 있는데, 이는 DEWA가 민자발전사업(IPP ; Independent Power Producer) 모델을 활용한 민간과 협업한 주요 프로젝트에 대한 전 세계 투자자들의 자신감이 반영된 것”이라면서 “DEWA의 총 에너지 생산능력은 1만4천117MW이며, 현재 태양광 패널을 이용한 솔라파크의 생산능력은 1천627MW이다”라고 덧붙였다.

그는 특히 “DEWA는 태양광 태양광 패널과 집중형 태양광 발전 기술을 활용해 총 1천233MW 규모의 태양광 발전소에서 다른 프로젝트를 시행하고 있어 두바이의 에너지 믹스 내 청정에너지 생산 비중을 11.5%로 높이고 있다”라면서 “이는 올해 말까지 14%에 이를 것으로 예상된다”고 강조했다.

모하메드 알 타이어 CEO는 또한 “우리는 두바이와 UAE를 재생 에너지와 청정에너지 생산의 최전선에 두려고 한다. DEWA는 5회 연속 최저 태양광 가격(Levelized Cost of Electricity)으로 세계 기록을 달성하여 두바이를 태양광 전력 가격의 글로벌 기준점으로 만들었다”라고 말했다.

DEWA receives 4 bids from international companies for consultancy contract of the 6th phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park

 

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has received 4 bids from international companies for consultancy contract for the sixth phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the largest single-site solar park in the world using the Independent Power Producer (IPP) model, with a production capacity of 5,000 megawatts by 2030. The production capacity of the sixth phase of the Solar Park will be 900 MW.

“We work in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to achieve the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Emissions Strategy 2050 to provide 100% of the total power capacity from clean energy sources by 2050. 

Since its launch, the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park’s projects have received considerable interest from global developers, which reflects the confidence of investors from around the world in DEWA’s major projects in collaboration with the private sector using the Independent Power Producer (IPP) model. DEWA’s total production capacity of energy is 14,117 MW. The current production capacity of the Solar Park is 1,627 MW using photovoltaic solar panels. 

DEWA is implementing other projects at the Solar Park with a total capacity of 1,233 MW using photovoltaic solar panels and concentrated solar power technologies, which raises the share of clean energy production within Dubai's energy mix to 11.5%. This is expected to reach 14% by the end of this year,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.

“We seek to put Dubai and the UAE at the forefront of producing renewable and clean energy. DEWA has achieved world records for the lowest solar energy prices (Levelised Cost of Electricity), for five consecutive times, making Dubai a global benchmark for solar power prices,” added Al Tayer.
