[브라질] 엔지, 2개 수력발전소 건설에 950만 유로 계약

 

프랑스의 전력생산업체인 엔지그룹(Engie Group)은 최근 브라질 정부로부터 9억 5천만 유로(BRL3.531bn)에 달하는 2개의 수력발전 프로젝트에 대한 30년간의 양허 계약을 체결했다.

이 계약은 미나스 제 라이스와 상파울루의 리오그란데에 위치한 424MW 자구아라(Jaguara) 수력발전 프로젝트와 인디아나 폴리스의 리오 아라 구이(미나스 제 라이스주)에 위치한 408MW 미란다 수력발전 프로젝트에 서명되었다.

두 프로젝트는 Engie의 설치용량을 1만290MW에서 1만1천122MW로 증가를 목표로 하고 있다.

Engie 브라질의 CEO인 마우시오 베르(Mauricio Bahr)는 “이 계약은 저탄소 전력 생산을 위한 그룹의 목표에 부합하는 Engie의 큰 성장 기회를 의미하는 엄청난 성공이다”라면서 “이 두 플랜트는 이미 다른 식물과 활동이 있는 남동부 지역에 있기 때문에 Engie의 성장을 위한 전략적 위치를 갖고 있다”고 말했다.

Engie는 브라질의 주요 민간 전력생산업체로서 11GW 이상의 용량을 갖추고 있다. 깨끗하고 재생 가능한 원천이 그룹내 설치된 시설의 90%를 차지한다. 이 회사의 저탄소 발자국은 북동쪽의 새로운 풍력발전소 건설과 브라질에서 가장 큰 수력발전소 중 하나인 지라우(Jirau) 수력발전소 가동으로 론디아(Rondonia)의 마데이라강(Madeira River)에서 강화되었다.

Engie Group은 또한 브라질의 태양 분산 발전 시장에도 진출했다. 이 그룹은 스마트 도시를 위한 에너지 효율성, 시스템 엔지니어링 및 통합, 공공 조명 및 도시 이동성과 관련된 서비스를 제공한다.

Engie Group은 70개국에 지사를 두고 있으며 2016년에 666억 유로의 매출을 올렸다.

Engie wins €950m contracts for two hydro power plants in Brazil

Private power producer Engie Group has won concession contracts from the Brazilian government for two hydro power projects.

The 30-year concession contracts are worth €950m (BRL3.531bn).

The contracts have been signed for the 424MW Jaguara hydro power project, located on Rio Grande between the states of Minas Gerais and Sao Paulo, and the 408MW Miranda hydro project, located at Rio Aragui in Indianapolis (Minas Gerais state).

The two projects will increase the installed capacity of Engie from 10,290MW to 11,122MW.

Engie Brazil CEO Mauricio Bahr said: “These contracts are a tremendous success that represent a great growth opportunity for Engie, in line with the group ambition to develop low carbon power production.”

“These two plants have a strategic location for Engie’s growth as they are in the southeast region where we already have other plants and activities,” Bahr said.

Engie is a major private power producer in Brazil, with an installed capacity of more than 11GW. Clean, renewable sources account for 90% of the group’s installed capacity in the country. The company’s low carbon footprint has been strengthened with the construction of new wind farms in the northeast and the operation of the 3,750MW Jirau plant, one of the largest hydro plants in Brazil, on the Madeira River at Rondonia.

The Engie Group also has presence in the solar distributed generation market in Brazil.

The group provides services related to energy efficiency, engineering and integration of systems, public lighting and urban mobility for smart cities.

The Engie Group has operations in 70 countries, and reported revenues of €66.6bn in 2016.
