IDE¡¯s modular RO tech to desalinate Black Sea for coal dust suppression
Russian transport company OTEKO has commissioned IDE Technologies to deliver a small scale desalination plant to help with coal dust suppression near the Black Sea.
Two IDE PROGREEN¢â reverse osmosis desalination units will produce 11,000 m3/day of drinking-quality water from the Black Sea for the coal terminal to spray the coal piles and eliminate the spread of coal dust by the wind. Located at the Taman seaport, the desalination plant will complement the development of a cargo terminal and an industrial area at the shore of the Black Sea.
IDE¡¯s modular RO system is chemical-free, designed to produce water from seawater.
Amnon Levy, CEO of IDE Projects, said the partnership with OTEKO will help the company look ahead to future projects in Russia.
