스웨덴에서 이루어진 시험은 새로 개조된 상수도에서 논쟁의 여지가 있는 내분비방해 화학물질인 Bisphenol A (BPA)를 발견했다. 지난해 4월 스웨덴 정부는 relining이라는 기법으로 개조된 수도관에서 BPA가 방출될 수 있는 범위를 조사하기 위해 두 개의 다른 기관을 합한 국가 화학기관에 지시했다. 당국도 필요한 경우, 이러한 노출을 줄이기 위한 조치를 제안하도록 요청 받았다.

BPA found in tap water in Sweden
Tests in Sweden have found the controversial endocrine-disrupting chemical Bisphenol A (BPA) in tap water from relined water pipes.
In April 2012 the Swedish government instructed the national chemicals agency, together with two other bodies, to examine the extent to which BPA could be released from water pipes renovated with a technique called relining The authorities were also asked to propose measures to reduce this exposure if necessary.
