탄소 포집 제거 솔루션 제공업체인 스반테(Svante Technologies Inc.)는 1월 2일(현지시각) 저스틴 피셔(Justine Fisher)를 최고재무책임자(CFO)로 임명했다고 발표했다. 

스반테는 2022년 12월 시리즈 E 자금 모집 라운드(Series E Fundraising Round)에서 3억1천800만 달러를 마감해 직원 수를 약 두 배 늘리고 최고운영책임자(COO), 최고수익책임자(CRO), 최고사업책임자(CCO)를 새로 임명하는 등 빠르게 확장하고 있다.

클로드 레토르노(Claude Letourneau) 스반테의 사장 및 최고경영자(CEO)는 "전 세계적으로 사업을 지속 확장함에 따라 비즈니스의 모든 요소, 특히 재무 보고와 기존 투자자, 미래 자금조달원과 성공적인 비즈니스 관계에 영향을 미치는 요소 등을 빠르게 확장할 것"이라며 "스반테의 최고 경영진으로 저스틴 피셔가 합류하게 된 것을 환영한다"고 말했다.

저스틴 피셔는 "탄소 관리는 기후변화의 속도를 늦추는 데 도움이 되는 녹색 산업 전환의 중요한 축"이라며 "스반테 탄소포집 솔루션의 일원이 돼 영광이며, 팀과 협력해 전 세계적으로 사업을 이끌어감으로써 회사의 다음 성장 단계를 열 수 있기를 기대한다"고 밝혔다.

스반테는 2007년 설립된 이래 약 300명의 전문가를 고용해 탄소 포집 제거 산업의 글로벌 리더로 성장하고 있다. 또한, 이산화탄소를 포집하는 고체 흡착제 기반 필터와 기계를 제작하고 있어, 이를 통해 직접 공기 포집(DAC) 응용 분야에서 대기 중 이산화탄소를 제거하는 데 활용될 것으로 기대되고 있다.

한편, 저스틴 피셔 최고재무책임자는 상품 및 산업 분야의 기업 재무과 자본 조달 등 투자자 커뮤니케이션 분야에서 20년 이상 활동한 경험을 보유하고 있다. 그는 회사의 전략 계획, 예산 책정, 실적 보고, 인사 관리 등 업무를 담당할 예정이다.

Svante Appoints Chief Financial Officer

 

Svante Technologies Inc. (Svante), a leading carbon capture and removal solutions provider announced today that it has appointed Justine Fisher as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

The company has been rapidly scaling since it closed US$318 million in its Series E fundraising round in December 2022, nearly doubling its employee headcount, and appointing a new Chief Operating Officer (COO), Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), and Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).

“As we continue to expand our operations globally, we want to ensure that all elements of our business are ready and able to support our rapid scaling, especially those that impact our financial reporting and successful business relationships with existing investors and future funding sources,” said Claude Letourneau, Svante’s President and CEO.

“I’m pleased to welcome Justine to the C-suite team at Svante and announce that Karen Miller, VP of Finance and Internal Controls, Kent Alekson, VP of Corporate Development, and Tyler Cheyne, VP of People and Culture, will be reporting directly to the new CFO.”

Justine brings over 20 years of experience in corporate finance, capital raising, balance sheet management, and investor communications in the commodities and industrial sectors.

She will be responsible for overseeing the company’s strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting, accounting, treasury, tax, and financial reporting functions, as well as Svante’s People and Culture group. She will serve as the steward of Svante’s financial matters with external stakeholders, including capital markets, institutional investors, lenders, regulators, and auditors.

This includes ensuring the adoption and implementation of new digital business technologies to create a connected finance organization that can produce real-time insights to inform key business decisions and drive enterprise value. Justine will lead efforts to ensure our workforce is skilled and motivated to drive towards Svante’s corporate objectives and purpose.

Since its founding in 2007, Svante has grown to employ nearly 300 professionals and has become a global leader in the carbon capture and removal industry. The company makes solid sorbent-based filters and machines that trap CO2, a noxious greenhouse gas, from heavy, hard-to-abate industrial facilities. The company’s filters can also be used for removing CO2 from the atmosphere in direct air capture (DAC) applications.
