[코카콜라] 영국 스코틀랜드 물재이용 시설에 투자키로

코카콜라(Coca-Cola) 유럽 파트너가 영국 스코틀랜드 이스트킬브라이드(East Kilbride) 지역의 제조업체 부지에 새로운 수처리·재이용 시스템을 선보였다.

약 290만 달러에 달하는 새 시설은 부지의 네 개의 제조 라인을 통해 연간 약 9천만㎥의 물을 줄여 보다 효율적인 물의 회복이 가능할 것으로 기대를 모으고 있다.

코카콜라는 2020년까지 1L의 음료수를 생산하는 데 1L 미만의 물을 사용하는 것을 타겟으로 설정했고 지난 2015년 그 목표에 도달한 것으로 알려졌다.

한편 이스트킬브라이드 부지에서는 연간 1천600만 개의 생산품을 생산해내고 있다.

Coca-Cola invests in water recycling plant in Scotland, UK

Coca-Cola European Partners has brought online a new water treatment and reuse system at its manufacturing site in East Kilbride, Scotland, UK.

The new plant, which cost ￡2.3 million ($2.9 million), will enable more efficient water recovery from the site's four manufacturing lines, saving an estimated 9,000 m3 of water a year.

Coca-Cola set a target to become water neutral by 2020, whereby it would use less than a litre of water to produce a litre of soft drink product, and claims that it reached that target by 2015.

The East Kilbride site produces 16 million cases of product a year.
