[영국] 앵글리안워터, WPL '하이브리드(Hybrid)-SAF' 구매 사용
5대 구입 클리프 퀘이 물재활용센터서 3차 처리 통해 암모니아 제거

 

앵글리안워터(Anglian Water)는 현장 하·폐수처리 전문업체인 WPL(www.WPLinternational.com)의 기술을 선택하여 주요 사업장에서 암모니아를 제거하고 있다.

5대의 ‘WPL Hybrid-SAF(수중 폭기 필터)’ 장치는 암모니아 제거에 대한 환경청 표준을 유지하기 위해 입스위치(Ipswich)의 클리프 퀘이 물재활용센터( Cliff Quay Water Recycling Centre)에서 3차 처리를 제공하고 있다.

앵글리안워터(Anglian Water)는 2019년 WPL로부터 모듈러 유닛(modular unit)을 임시로 사용했으나 지금은 구매해 사용을 하고 있다.

 

앵글리안워터(Anglian Water)는 현장 하·폐수처리 전문업체 WPL의 기술을

선택하여 주요 사업장에서 암모니아를 제거하고 있다.

 

기존 생물학적 처리장(biological treatment plant)의 하류에 설치되며, 각 장치는 필요할 때 약 초당 10L의 흐름을 처리할 수 있다. 흐름의 일부는 현장의 기존 최종 정착 탱크에 연결되는 단위로 펌핑된다.

각 Hybrid-SAF 장치는 10mg/L의 암모니아 감소를 달성하여 현장이 환경청(Environment Agency)의 암모니아 배출 요구량인 50mg/L를 유지한다. 기관의 규정은 현장이 최소한 95% 이상 이 기준을 충족해야 한다고 명시하고 있다.

WPL의 앤드루 헤이우드(Andrew Haywood) 현장관리자는 "2019년 봄부터 클리프 퀘이(Cliff Quay) 부분 폐수 흐름에서 암모니아를 성공적으로 제거한 5대의  'WPL 하이브리드-SAF' 판매를 완료해 기쁘다"고 말했다.

앤드루 헤이우드(Andrew Haywood) 현장관리자는 이어 "처음에는 임대 방식으로 유닛을 제공함으로써 고객이 비교적 짧은 시간 내에 암모니아 컴플라이언스를 유지하는 동시에 장기 자본 솔루션이 제공될 수 있도록 이 현장에 대한 호환성을 입증할 수 있었다"라고 강조했다.

그는 "WPL은 오랜기간 앵글리안워터(Anglian Water)에 SAF 유닛을 공급해 왔으며, 프레임워크 계약을 체결했으며, 우리는 규제 표준을 유지하고 환경에 더 큰 보호를 제공하는 이 중요한 프로젝트에 참여하게 되어 기뻤다"고 말했다.

앵글리안워터(Anglian Water)의 슬러지 처리 책임자인 피터 조이스(Peter Joyce)는 "이는 클리프 퀘이 물 재활용 센터(Cliff Quay Water Recycling Centre)에서 암모니아 제거에 대한 규제 기준을 충족시키기 위해 수행된 성공적인 프로젝트였다"라면서 "WPL의 '하이브리드(Hybrid)-SAF' 장치는 많은 사이트에서 규정 준수를 유지하는 데 중요한 역할을 한다"라고 말했다.

WPL의 '하이브리드(Hybrid)-SAF' 유닛의 모듈식 디자인은 그들이 쉽게 운반될 수 있고, '플러그 앤 플레이(plug and play)' 기반으로 설치와 작동이 간단하다는 것을 의미한다.

유닛은 나중에 구매할 수 있는 옵션과 함께 반응 적 또는 계획된 작업을 위해 단기 또는 장기적으로 고용 될 수 있다.

더 이상 사용하지 않을 경우 필요에 따라 현장에서 현장까지 장치를 쉽게 이동할 수 있다.

Tertiary Treatment Success Leads To Equipment Purchase

 

Five WPL Hybrid-SAF (submerged aerated filter) units are providing a level of tertiary treatment at Cliff Quay Water Recycling Centre, Ipswich, to maintain the Environment Agency standards for ammonia removal.

Anglian Water had hired the modular units from WPL on a temporary basis in 2019 but has now taken the opportunity to purchase them.

Installed downstream of the existing biological treatment plant, each unit is able to treat approximately 10 l/s flow when required. A proportion of the flows are pumped to the units, which connect to the site’s existing final settlement tanks.

Each Hybrid-SAF unit achieves 10mg/l ammonia reduction, ensuring the site maintains the Environment Agency’s ammonia effluent requirement of 50mg/l. The agency’s regulations state the site must meet these standards at least 95% of the time.

WPL’s utility manager Andrew Haywood said: “We are pleased to have completed the sale of five WPL Hybrid-SAF units, which have been successfully removing ammonia from partial effluent flows at Cliff Quay since the spring of 2019."

"By initially providing the units on a hire basis, we were able to demonstrate their compatibility for this site, enabling the customer to maintain ammonia compliance in a relatively short space of time, whilst the longer-term capital solution is delivered."

“WPL has a long history of supplying SAF units to Anglian Water, with a framework agreement in place, and we were delighted to be part of this important project to maintain regulatory standards and offer greater protection to the environment.”

Peter Joyce, Anglian’s head of sludge treatment, said: “This was a successful project, undertaken to meet regulatory standards for ammonia removal at Cliff Quay Water Recycling Centre. WPL’s Hybrid-SAF units play an important part in many of our sites maintaining compliance.”

The modular design of WPL’s Hybrid-SAF unit means they can be transported easily, are simple to install and operate on a “plug and play” basis.

Units can be hired on a short or long-term basis, for reactive or planned works, with the option of purchasing at a later date.

When no longer in use, the units can be easily transported from site to site, as required.
