[미국] 캘리포니아수도서비스그룹, '미국의 가장 책임감 있는 기업' 선정

캘리포니아 수도서비스그룹(NYSE: CWT)은 환경, 사회, 거버넌스(ESG)와 관련된 노력으로 뉴스위크에 의해 2022년 "미국에서 가장 책임감 있는 기업" 중 하나로 선정됐다고 밝혔다. 최근 세계 최고의 통계 포털 및 업계 순위 제공업체인 뉴스위크와 스타티스타가 공동으로 선정했다.

캘리포니아 수도서비스그룹은 수도사업 부문에서는 1위, 미국 전체 기업에서는 180위로, 14개 업종에 걸쳐 있는 기업을 인정하는 이 리스트는 미국에서 가장 큰 공기업 2천 개 중 상위 500개를 선정한다.

'미국의 가장 책임감 있는 기업'은 기업의 사회적 책임, 지속가능성, 기업시민성 보고서에서 도출된 공개 가능한 핵심성과지표(KPI)와 독립 설문조사를 토대로 선정한다. KPI는 환경·사회·기업지배구조 분야에서 기업 성과에 초점을 맞췄고, 독립조사는 미국 시민들에게 기업의 사회적 책임과 관련된 기업 활동에 대한 인식을 물었다.

California Water Service Group Named to Newsweek’s “America’s Most Responsible Companies” 2022 List

For its efforts related to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) matters, California Water Service Group (Group) (NYSE: CWT) has been named one of “America’s Most Responsible Companies” by Newsweek magazine for 2022. The distinction was recently presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider.

Group ranked first among water utilities and 180th overall among all companies nationwide. The list, which recognizes companies spanning 14 industries, names the top 500 out of 2,000 of the largest public companies by revenue in the United States.

America’s Most Responsible Companies were selected based on publicly available key performance indicators (KPIs) derived from corporate social responsibility, sustainability, and corporate citizenship reports as well as an independent survey. The KPIs focused on company performance in the environmental, social, and corporate governance areas, while the independent survey asked U.S. citizens about their perception of company activities related to corporate social responsibility.
