[미국] 아메리칸워터, 미주리주 소방관들에게 보조금 수여

 

미주리주 아메리칸워터(American Water)는 제퍼슨시(Jefferson City) 소방국과 콜 카운티 소방구(FPD)에 2021년 소방관 보조금 프로그램을 통해 긴급 대응 장비를 위한 보조금을 수여했다고 밝혔다.

 

소방관 보조금 프로그램은 2016년부터 매년 이 미주리주 전체의 소방 및 응급 구조대원에게 150개 이상의 보조금을 제공하고 있다. 이 프로그램은 소방관들에게 미주리 아메리칸 워터가 제공하는 지역사회에서 중요한 장비, 훈련 및 지역사회 교육을 위한 추가 기금을 제공한다.

브렌트 하스(Brent Haas) 아메리칸 워터 미주리주 운영 책임자는 "아메리칸워터는 물 공급자로서 생명을 구하고 지역사회를 보호하기 위해 추가적인 장비와 자원으로 지역 영웅들을 지원할 수 있어 자랑스럽다"고 말했다.

 

2021년 콜 카운티 방화지구는 새 호스와 노즐을 위한 1천200달러를, 제퍼슨시 소방국에 알루미늄 압출 호스 브리지 장비를 위한 1천200달러의 보조금을 지원받았다.

 

2020년에는 제퍼슨시 소방국은 1천200달러의 보조금을 통해 소방관이 기존 소화전의 펌프 작동에 대해 광범위하게 교육받을 수 있는 감압 밸브를 구입·설치했다.

 

제이슨 터너(Jason D. Turner)는 "제퍼슨시 소방국은 미주리주 아메리칸 워터의 보조금으로 소방용 호스 다리(fire hose bridges)를 구입할 수 있었다"고 말했다. 그는 "이는 소방관들이 호스 다리를 내려놓을 수 있게 해주어서 차량이 호스에 손상을 주지 않고 소방 호스 위로 기동할 수 있게 해줄뿐만 아니라 화재 현장에 드나드는 차량을 안전하고 빠르게 이동시킬 수 있다"고 말했다.

Missouri American Water Awards Firefighter Grants to Local Heroes

 

Missouri American Water awarded Jefferson City Fire Department and Cole County Fire Protection District (FPD) with grant funding for critical emergency response gear through its 2021 Firefighter Grant Program.

 

Since 2016, the annual program has provided more than 150 grants to fire and emergency responders across the state.  The program equips firefighters with supplemental funding for critical equipment, training and community education in communities served by Missouri American Water. 

 

“As a water provider, we are proud to support our local heroes with additional gear and resources to save lives and protect our community,” said Brent Haas, manager of operations for Missouri American Water.

 

This year, Cole County Fire Protection District received nearly $1,200 for new hoses and nozzles. Jefferson City Fire Department received $1,200 for a set of aluminum extruded hose bridge equipment.

 

“Jefferson City Fire Department was able to purchase fire hose bridges with Missouri American Water’s grant,” said Jason D. Turner, Division Chief of Prevention for the Jefferson City Fire Department. “This allows our firefighters to place the hose bridge down so vehicles can maneuver over the fire hose without damaging the hose. It also helps us get vehicles in and out of fire scenes in and safe and quick manner.” 

 

In 2020, the Jefferson City Fire Department received $1,200 to purchase and install a pressure reducer valve that allowed personnel to train extensively on pump operations for existing hydrants.
