일본 도쿄도 치요다구에 본사를 둔 메타워터(METAWATER, 사장 야마구치 겐지)가 라오스에 이동형 세라믹 멤브레인 여과장치를 공급한다. 지난 12월 13일 메타워터에 따르면 일본 정부공적개발원조(ODA)로 진행된 이번 수주는 라오스의 방재 및 재난 대응 능력을 향상시키는 것이 목표다.
라오스는 태풍 등 자연재해로 매년 극심한 홍수 피해를 입고 있다. 재난 피해자들에게 안전한 식수를 공급하기 위해서는 정수 시스템과 같은 재난 예방 및 대응 관련 장비 및 자재가 절실하다.
메타워터의 이동식 세라믹 멤브레인 여과 장비는 탁도가 높은 원수에서도 안정된 품질과 양의 정수를 공급할 수 있으며, 온보드(on-board) 발전기 덕분에 공공 전력 공급이 없는 곳에서도 물을 처리할 수 있다. 이 장비가 라오스의 재난 대비 능력을 크게 향상시킬 것으로 메타워터는 기대하고 있다.
한편, 메타워터는 라오스 외에도 안전한 물을 쉽게 구할 수 없는 지역에 재난 발생 시 비상대책으로 이동식 정수 시스템 판매를 확대할 계획이다.

Receipt of Order for a Mobile Ceramic Membrane Filtration Equipment to be Used in Laos
METAWATER Co., Ltd. (President: Kenji Yamaguchi, Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter "METAWATER") is pleased to announce that it has received an order for mobile ceramic membrane filtration equipment under grant aid assistance of Japan's official development assistance (ODA). The Equipment aims to enhance disaster prevention and response capabilities in Lao People's Democratic Republic (Laos).
Laos has suffered from severe floods every year due to natural disasters such as typhoons. There is a strong need for disaster prevention and response-related equipment and materials, such as water purification systems, to supply safe drinking water to evacuated disaster victims.
METAWATER's mobile ceramic membrane filtration equipment can supply purified water of stable quality and quantity even with high turbidity raw water, and thanks to its on-board power generator, it is possible to treat water even in places where there is no public power supply. This equipment will greatly improve and enhance the disaster preparedness capacity in Laos
In addition to Laos, METAWATER will continue to expand the sales of this equipment as an emergency measure in the event of a disaster and as a mobile water purification system to areas where safe water is not readily available.
