뉴저지 아메리칸워터(New Jersey American Water)가 노후화된 수도관 교체작업에 나선다.

뉴저지 아메리칸워터에 따르면 스프링필드 애비뉴(Springfield Avenue)부터 프로스펙트 스트릿(Prospect Street) 북쪽으로 약 100피트까지 파인 그로브 애비뉴(Pine Grove Avenue)를 따라 1900년대에 설치된 4인치 주철 급수관을 12인치 연성 철 본관으로 교체할 예정이다. 길이는 약 600피트에 달하며 이번 공사에는 5개의 유틸리티 서비스 라인 교체도 포함된다.

19만5천 달러 규모의 이번 사업은 주 전역 100개 이상의 커뮤니티에서 수명이 다한 물 인프라의 재생을 가속화하기 위한 뉴저지 아메리칸 워터의 수백만 달러 이니셔티브의 일부로서, 수도 서비스의 신뢰성을 지속적으로 향상시키고 지역 사회의 가정 소비 및 화재 방지를 위한 물 흐름을 증가시킬 전망이다.

뉴저지 아메리칸워터의 계약업체인 CRJ 컨트랙팅(CRJ Contracting, Inc.)은 2월 7일(현지시간)부터 작업을 시작할 예정이며 3주 이내에 공사를 마무리할 수 있을 것이라고 밝혔다.

New Jersey American Water Invests $195,000 in Summit Infrastructure

CAMDEN, N.J. – FEB. 4, 2022 – New Jersey  will replace approximately 600 feet of aging water main in Summit starting next week. The company will upgrade the aging 4-inch cast iron water lines that were installed in the 1900s with new 12-inch ductile iron main along Pine Grove Avenue from Springfield Avenue to approximately 100 feet north of Prospect Street. The project also includes replacing five utility-owned service lines along the pipeline route.

This $195,000 investment will continue to advance water service reliability and increase water flows for household consumption and fire protection in this community. This improvement is part of New Jersey American Water’s multimillion-dollar initiative to accelerate the renewal of water infrastructure that has reached the end of its useful life in more than 100 communities across the state.

New Jersey American Water’s local, qualified contractor, CRJ Contracting, Inc. will begin work the week of February 7 and expects to be completed within approximately three weeks, weather permitting. Work hours will be from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Work outside of these hours is not expected unless required to maintain project schedule. Final street restorations will be completed by Union County through its bridge restoration project.

Project timelines are subject to change due to a variety of factors including weather and availability of supplies. New Jersey American Water encourages customers to sign up for alerts through their MyWater account and follow the company on Facebook and Twitter to receive project updates.

For the public’s and workers’ safety, traffic restrictions and/or alternating traffic patterns are likely to occur during work hours. All emergency vehicles and local traffic will be allowed access during construction. New Jersey American Water values the safety of its workers and advises drivers and pedestrians to take caution in the vicinity of work sites.
