[두바이] DEWA, 제벨알리 하밥 펌핑 스테이션 업그레이드

두바이 제벨 알리 하밥(Jebel Ali Habab) 펌핑 스테이션 업그레이드 작업이 완료됐다. 이로써 물 연결(water connections) 총 용량은 3천600만 임페리얼갤런/일(MIGD)이며, 이는 약 6천744만 디르함(AED)의 경제적 가치를 지닌다.

두바이 수전력청(Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA)은 지난 2월 9일 제벨 알리 하밥 펌핑 스테이션 2단계 및 3단계 업그레이드 작업을 완료했다고 밝혔다.

업그레이드 공정은 물 펌핑의 자동화, 에너지 절약, 생산능력 증대, 펌프 및 모터 고장 감소를 촉진하는 것을 목표로 했다.

HE 사이드 모하메드 알 타이어(HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer) DEWA MD 겸 CEO는 “이 프로젝트는 인프라 개발을 위한 DEWA의 지속적인 노력의 하나로, 국가의 증가하는 전력 및 물 수요를 충족하하는 데 도움이 될 것이다”라며 “DEWA는 또한 두바이 통합물관리 전략의 일환으로 수자원의 지속가능성을 보장하기 위해 노력하고 있다”고 말했다.

그는 이어 “DEWA는 지속가능한 개발 수요에 발맞춰 최첨단 인프라를 제공하자는 셰이크 모하메드 빈 라시드 알 막툼(Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum) 부통령 겸 총리의 비전을 지지한다”고 말했다.

DEWA는 최신 기술이 적용된 스마트 시스템을 적용해 시설과 서비스를 관리하고 있다. DEWA가 관리하는 국가 인프라의 총 전력용량은 1만3천417MW, 수자원 용량은 490MIGD에 달한다.

DEWA completes upgrade of Jebel Ali Habab Pumping Station

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has 100% completed the upgrade of Jebel Ali Habab Pumping Station Phase-II & III. The total capacity of water connections at the station is 36 Million Imperial Gallons Per Day (MIGD), with a total cost of AED 67.44 million. The upgrade process aims to promote the automation of water pumping, energy conservation, and increasing the production capacity as well as reduction of pump and motor breakdowns. 

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, said that the project is part of DEWA’s continuous efforts to develop its infrastructure. This meets the growing demand for electricity and water in Dubai and helps DEWA provide its services according to the highest availability, reliability, efficiency, and quality standards for more than a million customers. DEWA also works to ensure the sustainability of water resources as part of the Dubai Integrated Water Resource Management Strategy, which focuses on enhancing water resources, rationalising water consumption, and using cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions to reduce water consumption by 30% by 2030.

DEWA’s total installed electricity capacity has reached 13,417 MW, and its water capacity has reached 490 MIGD. DEWA adopts the latest global technologies to provide state-of-the-art infrastructure and manage all facilities and services in the Emirate through smart connected systems. This improves operational efficiency and reduces losses in the water transmission and distribution networks, which has decreased from 42% in 1988 to 5.1% in 2020, making it one of the lowest water losses worldwide,” added Al Tayer.
