RIF 프로그램 통해 자금 지원…9개 지역사회에 상하수 인프라 개선

 

론 드산티스(Ron DeSantis) 플로리다주 주지사는 농촌 인프라 기금(Rural Infrastructure Fund, RIF) 프로그램을 통해 9개 지역사회에 710만 달러 이상의 지원금을 제공한다고 발표했다.

론 드산티스 주지사는 "플로리다 농촌 지역의 주민과 기업에게 이러한 전략적 투자는 중요하다"라며, "농촌 지역사회는 플로리다 주의 중추적인 역활을 하며, 농촌 지역사회의 인프라를 강화하는 것은 플로리다 전체를 강화하는 것과 같다"라고 전했다.

데인 이글(Dane Eagle) 플로리다 경제 기회부(Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, DEO)의 장관은 “DEO는 드산티스 주지사가 농촌 지역사회에 헌신하는 것을 지지할 수 있어 기쁘다"라며, “주지사는 플로리다의 농촌 지역사회의 성장과 발전이 플로리다의 경제적 성공에 가장 중요하다는 것을 알고 있으며, 주지사의 리더십 아래 DEO는 계속해서 농촌 지역사회를 세대 간 성장과 경제적 회복력을 지원하는 기회와 연결할 것이다”라고 말했다.

플로리다 경제 기회부(DEO)에서 관리하는 RIF 프로그램은 일자리 창출, 자본 투자, 농촌 경제의 강화 및 다각화를 장려하는 농촌 사회 인프라 프로젝트의 계획, 준비 및 자금 조달을 용이하게 하기 위한 자금을 제공한다.

프로그램에 대한 적격 활동에는 산업 또는 상업 현장을 위한 공공 인프라 개선, 공공 관광 인프라 개선 또는 개발, 광대역 인터넷 서비스의 접근 및 가용성 개선, 규제 조치를 초래한 부적절한 인프라 개선이 포함된다.

다음 지역사회는 RIF 프로그램을 통해 지원을 받게 된다.

애팔래치콜라(Apalachicola) 시(30만 달러) - 도시 우수 수송 시스템 개선을 위한 계획 및 설계 수행.

벨 글레이드(Belle Glade) 시(29만1천732달러) - 도심 지역 전체에 걸쳐 우수 개선을 위한 계획 및 설계 수행.

그레트나(Gretna) 시(350만1천840달러) - 저개발 상업 부지에서 새로운 제조 사업을 위해 상하수도 및 도로 인프라 확장.

하디(Hardee) 카운티(23만5천 달러) - 파이오니어 파크(Pioneer Park) 내에서 중요한 하수도 개선을 위한 계획 및 설계 수행.

로티(Lawtey) 시 (30만 달러) - 도시 상수도 시스템을 개선 위한 시의 설계 노력의 첫 단계 완료.

맥클레니(Macclenny) 시(90만5천 달러) - 도시 상하수도 시설을 확장해 저개발 지역에서 사업 개발을 발전시키고 지역 초등학교에 서비스 제공.

팔라카(Palatka) 시(55만5천518달러) — 경제 활동을 지원하고 15개의 일자리를 유지하기 위해 경제 회랑을 따라 노후되고 고장난 식수관 교체.

스와니(Suwannee) 카운티(76만4천601달러) - I-10 인터체인지에서 새로운 호텔과 비즈니스를 지원하기 위해 하수도 인프라 확장.

화이트 스프링스(White Springs) 타운(30만 달러) - 상수도 본관 및 서비스 교체, 확장 및 개선을 포함해 타운 전체의 상수도 시스템 개선 수행.

Governor Ron DeSantis Announces More than $7.1 Million in Awards to Support Florida’s Rural Communities

 

Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced more than $7.1 million in awards to nine Florida communities through the Rural Infrastructure Fund (RIF) program.

“These strategic investments in our rural communities are important to families and businesses in rural Florida,” said Governor Ron DeSantis. “Our rural communities are the backbone of our state and strengthening their infrastructure strengthens Florida as a whole.”

“DEO is proud to support Governor DeSantis’ commitment to our state’s rural communities,” said DEO Secretary Dane Eagle. “The Governor knows that the growth and development of Florida’s rural communities is paramount to Florida’s economic success, and under his leadership, DEO will continue to connect rural communities with opportunities that support generational growth and economic resilience.”

Administered by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO), the RIF program provides funding to facilitate the planning, preparing, and financing of infrastructure projects in rural communities, which encourages job creation, capital investment, and the strengthening and diversification of rural economies.

Eligible activities for the program include improvements to public infrastructure for industrial or commercial sites, upgrades to or development of public tourism infrastructure, improvements to access and availability of broadband internet service, and improvements to inadequate infrastructure that has resulted in regulatory action.

The following communities will receive awards through the RIF Program:

City of Apalachicola ($300,000) — to conduct planning and design for improvements to the City’s stormwater conveyance system.

City of Belle Glade ($291,732) — to conduct planning and design for stormwater improvements throughout the City’s downtown area.

City of Gretna ($3,501,840) — to extend water, sewer, and roadway infrastructure for a new manufacturing business in an underdeveloped commercial site.

Hardee County ($235,000) — to conduct planning and design for significant sewer improvements within Pioneer Park.

City of Lawtey ($300,000) — to complete the first phase of the City’s design effort to upgrade its municipal water distribution system.

City of Macclenny ($905,000) – to extend the City’s water and sewer utilities to allow business development in an underdeveloped area and serve the local elementary school.

City of Palatka ($555,518) — to replace aged and failing potable water lines along an economic corridor to support economic activity and retain 15 jobs.

Suwannee County ($764,601) — to extend sewer infrastructure to support a new hotel and businesses at the I-10 interchange.

Town of White Springs ($300,000) — to conduct Town-wide water system improvements, including water main and service replacements, extensions, and upgrades.
