워터스 코퍼레이션(Waters Corporation)이 "우리가 발견한 것보다 더 좋은 세상을 남기겠다"는 전사적인 약속을 통해 바론즈(Barron's) 2023 가장 지속 가능한 100대 기업 미국 목록 – 3년 연속 목록에 올랐으며 상위 10위 안에 두 번째로 포함됐다고 밝혔다.

워터스는 2022년에 지속 가능하게 설계된 Xevo™ TQ Absolute 질량 분석기의 출시를 포함하여 여러 가지 환경 지속 가능성 하이라이트를 표시했다. PFAS와 같은 오염 물질에 대해 음용수 및 환경 샘플을 테스트하는 데 사용되는 이 필수 장비는 전기 및 질소 가스를 50% 적게 사용하고 열을 50% 적게 생성하여 실험실 에너지 사용, 비용 및 총 환경 영향을 줄인다.

워터스는 또한 매사추세츠 주 톤턴(Taunton)에 2억 1천500만 달러 규모의 새로운 정밀 화학 시설을 열었다. 이 시설은 매사추세츠 최초이자 유일한 LEED 인증 화학 제조 시설이자 미국 내 몇 안 되는 시설 중 하나다.

미국 주간지 바론즈는 가장 지속 가능한 100대 기업 목록은 주주, 직원, 고객, 지역 사회 및 지구라는 5가지 주요 요소에서 성과를 기준으로 최대 상장 기업 1천개의 순위를 매겨 알버트 연구 및 관리(Calvert Research and Management)와 협력해 작성했다.

Waters Corporation Listed as No. 5 on Barron's 100 Most Sustainable Companies 2023 List

 

Waters Corporation’s (NYSE:WAT) companywide commitment to “leaving the world better than we found it” has earned it the number five ranking on the Barron’s 2023 100 Most Sustainable Companies U.S. list – its third consecutive year on the list, and its second time amongst the top ten.

Waters has a strong focus on making progress against a set of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals. At the highest level, these reflect Waters’ efforts to reduce its environmental footprint, develop a workforce that is more representative of the society we live in, and to continue its strong governance practices. In 2022, Waters shared an update on its progress as well as a transparent framework that demonstrates how the company plans to build upon its strategy which is grounded in the company’s guiding principle of "leaving the world better than we found it."

Waters marked multiple environmental sustainability highlights in 2022, including the release of its sustainably designed Xevo™ TQ Absolute mass spectrometer. This essential instrument, used to test drinking water and environmental samples for contaminants such as PFAS, uses 50% less electricity and nitrogen gas and produces 50% less heat — lowering laboratory energy use, cost, and total environmental impact.i

Waters also opened its new $215 million Precision Chemistry facility in Taunton, Massachusetts, the first and only LEED-certified chemical manufacturing facility in Massachusetts and one of a small number of such facilities in the U.S.

In its sixth year, the Barron’s100 Most Sustainable Companies list was built in collaboration with Calvert Research and Management by ranking 1,000 of the largest publicly traded companies by their performance in five key constituencies: shareholders, employees, customers, community, and the planet.
