[미국] 미 지하수협회, PFAS 샘플링 백서 발행

미국 지하수 협회(National Ground Water Association, NGWA)는 최근 PFAS(per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) 샘플 수집에 대한 지침에 초점을 맞춘 새로운 백서를 발간했다고 밝혔다.

PFAS 샘플링을 위한 실무 지침이 담긴 이 백서는 PFAS 샘플링에 대한 광범위한 지식을 갖춘 전문가 그룹과 NGWA의 자원 봉사자들에 의해 작성됐다.

이미 우리 주변 환경에 만연해 있는 PFAS는 교차 오염 문제와 수집한 샘플의 질을 유지하는 데 어려움이 있어 샘플링이 어렵다. 이 백서는 지하수 전문가에게 이러한 문제들을 극복하는데 필요한 지침과 효과적인 PFAS 샘플링 프로젝트 계획에 대한 조언을 제공한다.

PFAS의 정확한 샘플링은 수집된 데이터가 잠재적인 건강 위험에 대한 통찰력과 개선 또는 수처리에 사용해야 하는 전략을 제공하기 때문에 매우 중요하다. 백서는 현재 구매가 가능하며 모든 NGWA 회원에게 무료로 제공된다.

NGWA publishes white paper on PFAS sampling

NGWA has recently published a new white paper focused on guidelines for PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) sample collection.

The paper, Practical Guide for PFAS Sampling, was produced by a group of experts and NGWA volunteers with extensive knowledge of PFAS sampling.

Due to the heavy presence of PFAS in the environment, sampling is often a challenge due to issues of cross-contamination and difficulties maintaining quality samples in the field. The white paper provides groundwater professionals guidance in overcoming these obstacles and advice on planning effective PFAS sampling projects.

Accurate sampling of PFAS is vital because the data received provides insights into their potential health risks and what strategies should be used for remediation or water treatment.
