[미국] 연방국토개발국 샌 호아퀸 밸리 통합 수자원 계획 지원 위한 보조금 100만달러 지원

미국 연방국토개발국(Bureau of Reclamation)은 캘리포니아 물연구소(California Water Institute)와 샌 호아퀸 밸리를 위한 워터 블루프린트(Water Blueprint for the San Joaquin Valley)가 지역 물관리 노력과 지역 프로젝트를 '샌 호아퀸 밸리를 위한 통합 수자원 계획'으로 개발하고 통합하는 데 도움이 되는 약 100만 달러의 보조금을 지원한다고 발표했다.

아담 닉클레스(Adam Nickels) 미 연방국토개발국 자원관리 및 계획 책임자는 "연방국토개발국은 지속가능한 자원 관리와 관련된 미래를 내다보는 데 전념하고 있으며 캘리포니아 물연구소와 워터 블루프린트가 주도하는 노력을 협력하고 지원하게 되어 기쁘다"면서 "이러한 노력에 따라 미국 대중과 이해 관계자의 다양한 단면에서 정보를 수집하고 자원 의사 결정자와 이해 관계자가 사용할 것"이라고 말했다.

로라 라모스(Laura Ramos) 캘리포니아 물연구소의 연구 및 교육 부서 임시 이사는 "수자원 계획 보고서는 카운티, 도시 및 지속가능한 지하수 관계기관의 정보를 활용할 것"이라면서 “다양한 기관들 모두와 협력하여 그들의 요구 사항을 평가하고 그들 사이의 연관성을 찾게 되어 기쁘다”고 말했다. 

2개년 걸쳐 진행되는 이 프로젝트는 현재와 미래의 조건을 살펴보고 수질, 공급, 운송, 신뢰성, 보존 노력, 홍수 통제 및 인구 증가를 포함하여 계획의 다양한 측면을 고려할 것이다.

Reclamation grant supports unified water plan for the San Joaquin Valley

 

The Bureau of Reclamation today announced an award of about $1 million to help the California Water Institute and Water Blueprint for the San Joaquin Valley develop and integrate subregional water management efforts and local projects into a unified water plan for the San Joaquin Valley.

“Reclamation is committed to looking towards the future relative to sustainable resource management and we are excited to partner and support efforts spearheaded by CWI and the Water Blueprint,” said Adam Nickels, Reclamation’s chief of resources management and planning. “Under this effort, information will be gathered by a diverse cross-section of the American public and stakeholders and will be used by resource decision-makers and stakeholders.”

The water plan report will leverage information from counties, cities, and groundwater sustainability agencies. “I’m excited to work with all of the different agencies and evaluate their needs and find a connection between all of them,” said Laura Ramos, CWI research and education division interim director. “Being able to take a look at the entire area will give us a really good visual of what the San Joaquin Valley needs.”

The two-year project will look at existing and future conditions and consider various aspects of the plans, including water quality, supply, conveyance, reliability, conservation efforts, flood control and population growth.
