[사우디] NWC, 동부지방에 담수화 식수 연중무휴 공급 위해 1조7천174억원 투입

국영 수자원공사(NWC), 총 160만㎥의 담수화물 저장시설 40개 건설·493km의 상수도관망 구축

담맘·코바르·주베일·알아흐·알카티프 지역 등에 담수화 물공급 시스템 구축 등 12개 프로젝트 진행

사우디아라비아 국영 수자원공사(National Water Company, 이하 ‘NWC’)는 동부지방에  맑은물 공급을 위한 수질개선 프로그램에 총 49억 SAR(약 1조7천174억 원) 규모를 투입하여 꾸준히 진행하고 있다. 

NWC는 현재 담맘(Dammam), 코바르(Khobar), 주베일(Jubail), 알아흐사(Al-Ahsa), 알카티프(Al-Qatif) 등 이 지역에 담수화된 물공급 시스템에 초점을 맞춘 12개의 프로젝트를 진행하고 있다.

이 프로젝트에는 동부지방에 담수화된 물을 24시간 공급하기 위해 단계적으로 운영될 펌프장과 493km의 전략적 수도관망 건설 외에도 총 용량 160만 입방미터(㎥) 의 물탱크(저장시설) 40개 건설이 포함되어 있다.

NWC는 이들 지역에 서비스를 제공할 물 저장시설에 대한 실행이 이미 시작됐다고 강조했다. 지금까지 담맘에 총 용량 53만㎥의 물탱크 11대를 건설했다.

알코바르(Al-Khobar) 주에는 총 32만3천㎥ 용량의 대형 물탱크 8개가 추가로 계획되어 있다. 그러나 알카티프(Al-Qatif)는 총 32만2천㎥ 용량의 저장시설 8개가 건설되고 있다.

이와 함께 주베일(Jubail) 주와 알아싸(l-Ahsa) 주에는 각각 15만8천㎥ 규모의 대형 물탱크 6개와 31만㎥ 규모의 저장시설 7개가 건설되고 있다.

NWC는 동부 지방에서 진행 중인 프로젝트에는 21개의 펌프장이 포함되며, 이 중 5개는 담맘, 3개는 코바르, 5개는 알카티프, 6개는 주베일, 2개는 알아사에 건설된다.

또한 총 약 500km에 달하는 상수도관망 설치가 포함되며, 이 중 197km는 담맘에서, 52km는 코바르에서, 108km는 주베일에서, 62km는 알 카티프에서, 73km는 알 아흐사 주에서 실행될 예정이다.

NWC는 적용범위를 늘리고 수요를 충족시키며 이 지역 주지사들의 급증하는 도시개발에 발맞추기 위해 동부지방에서 시행하고 있는 프로젝트를 중심으로 대중의 인식을 높이기 위한 캠페인을 시작했다.

NWC는 “프로젝트가 진행 속도를 높이고 결과를 극대화하기 위해 관련 기관과의 완전한 조정 및 통합을 통해 최고 및 최신 기술을 활용하여 최고 품질로 실행된다”라면서 궁극적인 목표는 NWC의 인프라 개발 목표를 달성하는 것”이라고 강조했다.

NWC의 전략에 따라 이러한 프로젝트는 고객을 위한 서비스 범위를 증가시키고 동부지방의 시 및 주에서 운영 효율성의 연속성을 보장할 것으로 기대된다고 밝혔다.

NWC executes desalinated water coverage projects in the Eastern Province worth SAR4.9 billion for 24/7 supply

 

The National Water Company (NWC) is making steady progress on its program for improving the quality of water in the Eastern Province. Currently, NWC works on 12 projects focused on the desalinated water distribution systems in the region. 

The projects include construction of 40 water tanks with a total capacity of 1.6 million cubic meters, in addition to pumping stations and 493 km of strategic pipeline networks that will be gradually operated to serve beneficiaries in Dammam, Khobar, Jubail, Al-Ahsa and Al-Qatif with 24/7 supply.

The company emphasized that the execution of the reservoirs that will serve these areas has already begun. So far, the company built 11 tanks with a total capacity of 530,000 cubic meters in Dammam. 

Eight (8) more tanks with a total capacity of 323,000 cubic meters are planned in the governorate of Al-Khobar. Al-Qatif, however, witnesses the construction of eight (8) reservoirs with total capacity of 322,000 cubic meters. 

Additionally, six tanks, 158,000 m3 in total, and seven (7) tanks, 310,000 m3, are being built in Jubail and Al-Ahsa governorates respectively.

The projects underway in the Eastern Province, NWC noted, include 21 pumping stations, 5 of which are in Dammam, 3 in Khobar, 5 in Al-Qatif, 6 in Jubail and 2 in Al-Ahsa. 

They also comprise the installation of some 500,000 meters of pipeline networks in total, 197,000 meters of which will be executed in Dammam, 52,000 meters in Khobar, 108,000 meters in Jubail, 62,000 meters in Al-Qatif and 73,000 meters in Al-Ahsa governorate.

NWC launched a campaign in the Eastern Province to raise public awareness around the projects it is implementing there to increase coverage, meet demand and keep up with the surging urban development in the region’s governorates. 

The company added that the projects are executed to the highest quality, utilizing the best and latest technologies, with full coordination and integration with relevant entities to expedite progress and maximize results. The ultimate goal is to achieve NWC’s infrastructure development objectives. 

Aligned with NWC’s strategy, these projects are expected to increase services coverage for our customers and guarantee the continuity of our operational efficiency in the cities and governorates of the Eastern Province.
