미국의 태양열 및 에너지 저장 업체인 서밋 Ridge 에너지(Summit Ridge Energy)는 30일(현지시간) 정도 투자·관리 회사 LBA 로지스틱스(LBA Logistics), 현장 플레이 에너지 및 쉼기술 서비스 업체인 블랙 팀 에너지( Black Bear Energy)와 함께 4개 산업단지 대략 6개 루프탑 공동 태양광 프로젝트(Six Rooftop Community Solar Projects)를 확장하는 완충해 미국 매릴랜드 주 로즈데일에서 기념식을 개최한다고 합니다. 미국의 상업용 태양열 및 에너지 저장업체인 서밋 리지 에너지(Summit Ridge Energy)는 30일(현지시간) 부동산 투자·관리 회사인 LBA 로지스틱스(LBA Logistics), 현장 재생 에너지 및 청정기술 서비스 업체인 블랙 베어 에너지(Black Bear Energy)와 함께 4개 산업단지를 거친 6개 루프탑 공동 태양광 프로젝트(Six Rooftop Community Solar Projects)를 추진하는 파트너십을 체결해 미국 매릴랜드 주 로즈데일에서 기념식을 개최했다고 밝혔다. 초기 프로젝트는 올해 3분기에 온라인으로 진행될 예정이다.

이 기념식에 벤 브룩스(Ben Brooks) 미국 상원의원, 조니 올스체프스키 주니어(Johnny Olszewski Jr) 카운티 행정관을 비롯해 서밋 리지 에너지·LBA·블랙 베어 에너지의 대표자들이 참석했다. 

새로운 프로젝트는 저렴한 비용으로 지역 주민에게 에너지를 제공하는 매릴랜드 커뮤니티 태양광 프로그램(Maryland Community Solar Program)의 일부로, 총 17 MW를 생산한다. 서밋 리지 에너지가 개발하고 소유한 이 지역은 연간 2천500만 kWh 이상의 전력을 생산하며, 이는 2천 가구 이상에 전력을 공급하는 것과 동일하다. 

브라이언 던(Brian Dunn) 서밋 리지 에너지의 최고 경영자는 "우리는 LBA와 블랙 베어 에너지와의 파트너십을 확대해 매릴랜드 주에서 지역 태양광 발전을 강화하게 돼 자랑스럽다"며 "이 프로젝트는 사용되지 않는 지붕 공간을 활용해 지역 경제 발전을 촉진하고 주 전역의 기업과 고객을 위한 청정 에너지 비용 절감을 확대할 수 있다"고 말했다.

드류 토빈(Drew Torbin) 블랙 베어 에너지의 사장이자 설립자는 "이 프로젝트는 지역 주민 뿐만 아니라, 지붕에 태양열을 설치할 수 없는 기업에게도 저렴한 에너지를 제공함으로써 지역사회에 실질적인 혜택을 가져다준다"고 말했다.

서밋 리지 에너지는 2017년에 출범한 미국 상업용 태양광 회사로, 전략적 파트너십과 프로젝트 파이낸싱 전문 지식을 통해 상업용 태양열 및 배터리 저장 부문에서 에너지 프로젝트를 개발하고 인수해 운영한다.

Summit Ridge Energy and Black Bear Energy Celebrate 17 MWs of Rooftop Community Solar Projects in Maryland

The projects will provide clean energy to local residents at reduced rates through the Maryland Community Solar Program

 

ARLINGTON, VA – August 30, 2023 – Summit Ridge Energy, the nation’s leading commercial solar and energy storage company, today held a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Rosedale, Maryland to celebrate the construction of six rooftop community solar projects across four industrial properties alongside LBA Logistics, a full-service real estate investment and management company, and Black Bear Energy, a commercial buyer’s representative specializing in onsite renewable energy and cleantech services. The initial project is scheduled to come online Q3 of this year, with the remaining five sites scheduled to commence in early to mid-2024.

Summit Ridge Energy is the market leader in Maryland’s commercial solar industry, with more than 75 megawatts (MW) of rooftop community solar projects across the state.

Totaling over 17 MW, the six new rooftop-hosted solar projects in Rosedale and Belcamp, Maryland are part of the Maryland Community Solar program, which provides low-cost renewable energy to local residents. Developed and owned by Summit Ridge Energy, these sites will generate over 25 million kWh of electricity annually – the equivalent of powering more than 2,000 homes. The projects are located on the rooftops of industrial assets owned and managed by LBA Logistics.

Attended by Senator Ben Brooks, County Executive Johnny Olszewski Jr, and representatives from Summit Ridge Energy, LBA and Black Bear Energy, the ribbon cutting ceremony in Rosedale, Maryland celebrated the companies’ investment in the Maryland economy and the energy savings the projects will provide for local residents.

After the ceremony, tenants who occupy and work in the LBA Logistics owned and managed buildings were invited to enroll in the Maryland Community Solar program, providing direct savings on their energy bills.
