[이탈리아] 드노라, 아크와파워와 사우디아라비아 에너지 전환 및 담수화 가속화 MOU 체결

지속가능한 전기화학 기술과 신흥 녹색 수소 산업에 특화된 이탈리아의 다국적 기업인 드노라(De Nora)는 사우디 상장 민간 담수화 기업인 아크와파워(ACWA Power)와 녹색 에너지, 상하수도 정수 기술 등의 생산을 통해 에너지 전환을 진전시키기 위한 MOU를 체결하고 핵심 및 신기술 연구 개발을 공동 수행한다고 밝혔다. 이번 파트너십은 사우디 투자부와 이탈리아 경제개발부의 후원으로 어제 밀라노에서 개최된 사우디-이탈리아 투자 포럼에서 양해각서(MOU)를 체결함으로써 공식적으로 인정되었다.

드노라 그룹은 회사의 가장 발전된 전기 화학 기술에 기반을 둔 여러 제품군을 갖춘 포괄적인 상하수도 기술 포트폴리오를 제공하며 아크와파워는 전극 기술에 대한 드노라의 전문 지식을 녹색 수소의 지속 가능한 생산을 위한 가능한 요소로 활용할 계획이다.

드노라와 아크와파워의 협력은 알 주바일(Al Jubail) 담수화 플랜트 2단계 업그레이드의 일환으로 진행 중인 세계 최대 규모의 해수 역삼투압 담수화 플랜트, 합작 파트너인 티센크루프 누세라(Thysenkrupp nucera AG & Co.)가 공급하는 알칼리 수전해를 이용한 네옴(Neom)의 세계 최대 그린 수소 생산 플랜트 등 지역 내 유사한 범위의 높은 인지도를 가진 프로젝트의 실적을 바탕으로 이루어질 것이다.

부오네르바 책임자는 "아크와파워와 협력하고 경영진의 지도를 통해 드노라는 아크와파워에 가장 경쟁력 있는 총 소유 비용으로 최고의 기술을 제공하고 이산화탄소 발자국을 최소화하며 깨끗한 물과 녹색 수소에 대한 쉽고 비용 경쟁력 있는 접근을 허용하는 많은 기회를 실현할 것으로 확신한다"고 덧붙였다.

De Nora signs MOU with ACWA Power to accelerate energy transition & water desalination in Saudi Arabia

Coalition reaffirms De Nora’s ongoing commitment to the development of the Kingdom

 

Industrie De Nora S.p.A. (“De Nora”), an Italian multinational company listed on the Euronext Milan, specialized in sustainable electrochemical technologies and in the emerging green hydrogen industry, has been selected by Saudi-listed ACWA Power, the world’s largest private water desalination company, to enter into a close collaboration to advance the energy transition via the production of green energy, water and wastewater disinfection technologies and jointly perform Research & Development of key and new technologies. The partnership was formally recognized with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at the Saudi-Italian Investment Forum, held yesterday in Milan under the patronage of the Saudi Ministry of Investment and the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and made in Italy.

The overall reinforcement of the business relations between our companies, under the umbrella of the friendship of the Italian and Saudi governments, is certainly a springboard for additional successes and expand our presence.”

De Nora Group offers a comprehensive portfolio of water and wastewater technologies, with several product lines rooted in the company’s most advanced electrochemical technologies. ACWA plans to utilize De Nora’s expertise in electrode technologies as the enabling factor for the sustainable production of green hydrogen.

The collaboration with ACWA will draw on the experience of similarly scoped high profile projects in the region, such as the largest seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant in the world, underway as part of the second phase of the Al Jubail Desalination Plant upgrade, and the world’s largest green hydrogen production plant at Neom using alkaline water electrolysis supplied by our joint venture partner thyssenkrupp nucera AG &Co. KGaA (thyssenkrupp nucera), a joint initiative of Air Products, ACWA power and Neom Green Hydrogen company.
