[사우디] ACWA 파워, 이탈리아 6개 파트너와 전략적 협력 계약 체결

녹색 수소ㆍ담수화ㆍR&D 부문서 양국간 협력 모색

 

사우디 세계 최대 민간 담수화 기업인 ACWA 파워(ACWA Power)는 지난 9월 4일 밀라노에서 열린 사우디-이탈리아 투자 포럼에서 6개의 이탈리아 파트너와 녹색 수소, 담수화, 연구개발 분야의 전략적 협약을 체결해 협력을 강화했다고 밝혔다.

이탈리아의 6개 기관 및 기업에는 이탈리아공업총연합(Confindustria), 주요 에너지 회사 애니(Eni), 유틸리티 및 폐기물 관리 회사 A2A, 산업 솔루션 공급업체 인더스트리 드노라(Industrie De Nora), 특수 첨가제 제조업체 이탤매치 케미컬(Italmatch Chemicals), 분류 및 엔지니어링 솔루션 제공업체 RINA가 포함된다.

마르코 아르첼리(Marco Arcelli) ACWA 파워의 CEO는 "세계 최대의 탈탄소 프로그램의 본거지 중 하나인 사우디아라비아와 세계에서 가장 경쟁력 있는 엔지니어링, 제조, 기술 공급국 중 하나인 이탈리아가 협력하기를 기대한다"면서 "ACWA 파워와 이탈리아의 협력은 중요한 전문 지식, 제품 및 장비의 교환을 가능하게할 것"이라고 말했다.

아르첼리 CEO는 이어 "이번 협력을 통해 사우디아라비아 내 이탈리아 기업의 현지화가 확대되고 연구개발 분야에서 강력한 파트너십을 구축할 수 있기를 희망한다"며 "ACWA 파워를 사우디아라비아 내 이탈리아 및 유럽 기업을 위한 혁신적인 기회를 제공하고 녹색 수소 및 기술 전문 지식을 공급함으로써 이탈리아와 유럽에서 지속가능한 발전을 촉진하는 수단으로 만들겠다는 포부를 갖고 있다"라고 덧붙였다.

Confindustria와 협력 업체들은 222개 협회와 15만 개 이상의 기업으로 구성된 집단 네트워크를 통해 ACWA 파워와 함께 적합한 계약자 및 공급업체 선별, 연구개발(R&D), 장기적인 공급 및 제조 파트너십을 포함한 녹색 수소 및 담수화 프로젝트의 개발 가능성을 평가할 것이다.

Eni와 ACWA 파워는 녹색 수소, 재생 에너지, 혁신적이고 지속가능한 기술에 대한 연구 개발 분야의 협력을 모색할 것이다. A2A와 ACWA 파워는 상호 관심 분야의 녹색 수소 프로젝트와 이탈리아의 녹색 수소 수입 가능성을 평가할 예정이다. RINA와 ACWA 파워는 해상 운송에서 녹색 수소와 그 파생물의 잠재적 사용 가능성을 모색할 것이다.

인더스트리 드노라(Industrie De Nora)는 ACWA 파워의 담수화 프로젝트 포트폴리오를 강화하기 위해 전기화학 및 지속 가능성 기술에 대한 전문 지식을 제공하고 녹색 수소 응용 분야의 운영 및 유지 관리에서 가능한 협력을 조사할 것이다.

Italmatch Chemicals와 ACWA 파워는 사우디아라비아에서 장기 공급 계약을 맺고 수처리 제품 생산의 현지화 가능성과 R&D 및 지식 교환 기회를 모색할 예정이다. 

사우디-이탈리아 투자 포럼은 사우디아라비아 투자부(MISA)와 이탈리아 기업부, 메이드 인 이탈리아(Made in Italy)가 공동으로 주최하고 있으며, 90년 이상의 수교를 통해 양국 간 교역액은 현재 약 110억 달러에 이르고 있다.

ACWA POWER SIGNS STRATEGIC COOPERATION AGREEMENTS WITH SIX ITALIAN PARTNERS IN GREEN HYDROGEN, WATER DESALINATION AND R&D

 

Saudi-listed ACWA Power, the world’s largest private water desalination company, leader in energy transition and first mover into green hydrogen, has signed strategic agreements with six Italian partners at the Saudi-Italian Investment Forum in Milan on the 4th of September to bolster cooperation in the fields of green hydrogen, water desalination, and research and development.

The six Italian entities include the small, medium and large enterprises federation Confindustria, major energy firm Eni, utility and waste management firm A2A, industrial solutions provider Industrie De Nora, specialty additives manufacturer Italmatch Chemicals and classification and engineering solutions provider RINA.

Through its collective network of 222 associations and more than 150,000 companies, Confindustria and its associates will assess with ACWA Power the potential for developments of green hydrogen and water desalination projects, including the identification of suitable contractors and suppliers, research and development (R&D), and long-term supply and manufacturing partnerships.

Eni and ACWA Power will investigate cooperation in green hydrogen, renewables and research and development in innovative, sustainable technologies. A2A and ACWA Power will assess the potential for green hydrogen projects in their areas of mutual interest, and green hydrogen imports in Italy.  RINA and ACWA Power will investigate potential use of green hydrogen and its derivatives in sea-borne shipping.

Industrie De Nora will provide its expertise in electrochemistry and sustainability technologies to enhance ACWA Power’s portfolio of water desalination projects and will investigate possible cooperation in operations and maintenance in green hydrogen applications.

Italmatch Chemicals and ACWA Power will explore the potential for localization in Saudi Arabia of the production of water treatment products with long term supply agreements to its operations, as well as opportunities in R&D and knowledge exchange.

The Saudi-Italian Investment Forum is jointly hosted by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Investment (MISA), Italy’s Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy. With over 90 years of diplomatic relations, bilateral trade between the two nations currently stands at around US$11 billion.
