[영국] 서던워터, 물절약 아이디어 가진 기업에 15만파운드 지원

영국 남부지역 기업과의 협력 강화 및 물절약 장려 위해 마련

서던워터(Southern Water) 물을 절약하는 혁신적인 방안 모색에 도움을 주기 위해 15만 파운드(약 2억 4천728만 원) 규모의 비즈니스 파트너십 기금을 지원한다고 밝혔다.

이번 자금 지원은 영국 남부 지역 기업과의 협력을 강화하고 물절약을 장려하기 위해 마련됐다.

이 비즈니스 파트너십 기금은 보조금 제도와 동일하게 지급되며, 기업이 자사의 비즈니스에 도움이 될 수 있는 물절약 프로젝트를 보유한 경우, 서던워터에 도움을 요청할 수 있다.

팀 맥마흔(Tim McMahon) 서던워터 물 담당 이사는 “물은 소중한 자원이므로 우리 모두가 이를 관리하는 데 각자의 역할을 다해야 한다. 서던워터는 많은 기업들이 물을 절약하기 위한 몇 가지 훌륭한 아이디어를 가지고 있다는 것을 알고 있다"면서  "서던워터는 이러한 아이디어를 현실로 만들 수 있는 추가 자금을 제공하고 물절약이 실제로 큰 변화를 가져오기 때문에 모든 고객과 기업에 훨씬 더 광범위한 혜택을 제공할 것"이라고 말했다.

이어 "비를 모으거나 샤워용 물을 모으는 것, 수도꼭지에 유량 제한 장치를 설치하는 것, 물을 절약하기 위해 새로운 기술을 활용하는 것 등 기업이 물을 절약할 수 있는 방법은 많다"면서 "이번 비즈니스 파트너십 기금 15만 파운드는 올해 12월 31일까지 신청이 가능하다"고 덧붙였다.

Businesses with water saving ideas to benefit from new £150,000 funding pot

 

Businesses from across the south can get access to thousands of pounds that can help them unlock innovative ways to save water.

Southern Water is teaming up with businesses of all sizes across its region to encourage them to save water.

The Business Partnership Fund works like a grant scheme, if any businesses have a water-saving project that can benefit their business, they can call on Southern Water for help to help them achieve it.

Southern Water’s Director of Water, Tim McMahon, said:

“Water is a precious resource and we must all play our part in looking after it. We know many businesses have some brilliant ideas to save water.

“We’re here to provide that extra bit of funding that can make those ideas a reality and that in turn will provide a much wider benefit to all our customers and businesses as water saving really does make a huge difference.”

“There are many ways businesses can save water whether it’s harvesting rain or shower water, fitting flow restrictors on taps or maybe you want to try harnessing new technology to save water – we are here to help.”

A total of £150,000 will be available to kick-start the fund. Applications are now open until 31 December this year. Water retailers supplying businesses are welcome to apply, along with water conservation service providers.
