[영국] 케미라, 영국의 수처리 화학물질 생산에 수백만 유로 투자 발표

물 집약적인 산업을 위한 지속 가능한 화학 솔루션 분야의 글로벌 리더인 케미라(Kemira)는 영국 굴(Goole)에 있는 황산제이철 수처리 화학 제품 생산 라인의 용량 확장을 발표했다.

7만 톤의 추가 용량 투자는 영국의 물 산업 국가 환경 프로그램(Water Industry National Environment Programme)에 명시된 폐수 처리에서 인 및 기타 영양분 방출에 대한 새롭고 강화된 자산 관리 계획7 및 계획8 규정으로 인해 증가하는 응고제에 대한 수요를 충족한다. 새로운 용량은 2025년 3분기에 가동될 예정이다.

Wido Waelput 케미라의 상업, EMEA 및 APAC, 산업 및 물 부문 수석 부사장은 “우리는 고객이 엄격한 규정을 준수할 수 있도록 지원하고, 수처리 공정의 모든 부분에서 사용되는 화학 물질을 최적화할 수 있도록 지원한다. 이 투자는 다양한 유형의 철 원료를 활용할 수 있는 유연성을 높여 증가하는 수요에 맞춰 강력한 공급 서비스를 확보할 것이다”라고 말했다.

케미라는 현재 Goole, Ellesmere Port, Teesport 및 Bradford에 있는 350개의 영국 제조 현장에서 연간 35만 톤 이상의 수처리 및 기타 화학 물질을 생산한다. 케미라 최근 몇 년 동안 Goole 사이트에 상당한 투자를 했으며, 최신 확장 프로그램은 2021년에 완료됐다.

Kemira announces a multi-million euro investment in water treatment chemicals production in the UK

 

Kemira, a global leader in sustainable chemical solutions for water-intensive industries, announces a significant capacity extension of its ferric sulfate water treatment chemicals production line in Goole, UK. The additional 70 000 tons capacity investment helps meet the growing demand for coagulants due to the new and stricter Asset Management Plan 7 and 8 regulation on phosphorus and other nutrient discharge from wastewater treatment set out in the Water Industry National Environment Programme in the UK. The new capacity is planned to be in operation in Q3 2025.

“We support our customers in meeting the tighter regulations and help them to optimize the chemistries used in every part of the water treatment process. This investment will increase our flexibility to utilize different types of iron raw materials which will further secure our strong supply service when demand increases. Kemira produces currently over 350 000 tons of water treatment and other chemicals annually at its four UK manufacturing sites in Goole, Ellesmere Port, Teesport and Bradford. Kemira has invested significantly in the Goole site in recent years. The latest expansion program was completed in 2021.
