[네덜란드] NX 필트레이션, 네덜란드 최초 P2P 열 교환 계약 체결

IT 솔루션 제공업체 프리바이더 데이터 센터서 잔열 공급…탄소배출 크게 줄여

NX 필트레이션(NX Filtration)은 네덜란드 헨젤로에 중공사 나노여과막 생산을 위한 새로운 메가팩토리를 건설하고 있다. NX 필트레이션의 나노여과막은 에너지 소비를 크게 줄이고 전처리 화학 물질의 사용을 방지하므로 PFAS(과불화화합물)나 의약품과 같은 작은 오염 물질을 효과적으로 제거하는 데 강력한 지속 가능성의 이점을 결합한다. NX 필트레이션의 새로운 메가팩토리는 올해 상반기에 가동될 예정이다.

300m 길이의 새로운 지하 파이프라인을 통해 데이터 센터의 잔여 열을 NX 필트레이션으로 전달하고 동시에 NX 필트레이션에서 냉각수를 가져와 데이터 센터의 냉각 요구 사항을 충족시킨다. 양 당사자 모두 연중무휴로 운영되므로 안정적이고 신뢰할 수 있는 열 및 냉각 공급원을 제공해 상당한 양의 이산화탄소 배출을 방지한다.

이 P2P 열 교환 계약은 NX 필트레이션이 새로운 메가팩토리를 건설해 구현하고 있는 광범위한 지속 가능성 이니셔티브를 보완하는 것으로, 여기에는 400개 이상의 옥상 태양광 패널 설치, 고수율 열 펌프 사용 및 폐수 흐름과 같은 내부 소스의 열을 재이용할 수 있는 광범위한 열 회수 시스템 등이 포함된다.

First peer-to-peer heat exchange in the Netherlands

NX Filtration, the global provider of hollow fiber nanofiltration technology, has entered into an agreement with Previder (part of Odin Group), an IT solutions provider, to source residual heat from Previder’s adjacent datacenter for its new megafactory. This is the first peer-to-peer heat exchange between a datacenter and an external user in the Netherlands, that significantly reduces CO2 emissions of both parties.

 

NX Filtration is in the process of constructing a new megafactory for the production of its hollow fiber nanofiltration membranes in Hengelo, the Netherlands. NX Filtration’s nanofiltration membranes uniquely combine the effective removal of small contaminations, such as PFAS or pharmaceuticals, with strong sustainability benefits, as they significantly reduce energy consumption and avoid the use of pre-treatment chemicals. NX Filtration’s new megafactory is scheduled to start-up in the first half of 2024.

Through the agreement with Previder, NX Filtration replaces the traditional primary source for its heat requirements, being high yield heat pumps and natural gas, with residual heat from the datacenter. A new 300 meter long underground pipeline will transport the residual heat from the datacenter to NX Filtration, and at the same time brings back cold water from NX Filtration for the datacenter’s cooling requirements. As both parties run a 24/7 operation, this provides a stable and reliable source of heat and cooling, avoiding a significant amount of CO2 emissions.

This peer-to-peer heat exchange agreement complements a broader set of sustainability initiatives that NX Filtration is implementing with the construction of its new megafactory, that includes the installation of more than 400 rooftop solar panels, the use of high yield heat pumps, and an extensive heat recovery system that enables the reuse of heat from internal sources such as wastewater streams.
