[미국] 헬리오젠, 멕시코에서 태양 에너지 이니셔티브 확장를 위해 오만어와 협력

AI 태양광 기술 제공업체인 헬리오젠(Heliogen, Inc)은 멕시코 바하 칼리포르니아 노르테 주와 소노라 주의 물류 및 에너지 인프라 전문 부동산 개발업체인 오만어(Omanor)와 집광형 태양광 발전소 건설 공동 개발 계약을 체결했다.

헬리오젠과 오만어는 첫 번째 프로젝트를 위해 멕시코 소노라(Sonora)의 사전 승인된 부지를 평가했다.  

1단계가 완료되면 비용 분석 및 타당성 조사를 통해 규모 및 발전 용량을 결정한다. 오만어는 예비 현장 실사와 초기 에너지 고객 식별 및 확보를 통해 헬리오젠을 지원할 것이다.

다니엘 수아레스(Daniel Suarez) Omanor의 CEO는 “헬리오젠과의 협력은 재생 가능한 에너지에 대한 멕시코의 독특한 지리적 이점을 활용하는 데 있어 중추적인 단계이다”라고 말했다. 수아레스는 이어 “최근 재생 가능 에너지로 가속화되는 연방 정책과 헬리오젠의 획기적인 집광형 태양광 기술 간의 시너지는 우리의 풍부한 태양광 환경을 강력하고 지속 가능한 에너지 허브로 변화시킬 것을 약속한다”고 덧붙였다. 

헬리오젠은 오만어와의 파트너십을 통해 멕시코 시장을 개척하고 대규모 프로젝트를 시작하는 데 필요한 현장 전문 지식을 확보할 것이다. 이 지역은 높은 태양 자원을 가지고 있으며, 태평양에 직접 연결돼 있어 담수화 및 수소 생산을 포함한 다양한 산업 공정을 지원한다.

헬리오젠의 CEO인 크리스티 오비아야(Christie Obiaya)는 “우리의 혁신적인 기술과 오만어의 지역 전문성을 결합함으로써 우리는 멕시코 태양광 자원의 방대한 잠재력을 활용해 산업의 탈탄소화를 도울 준비가 되어 있다”라고 말했다. 그는 “이 관계를 통해 우리는 멕시코에 헬리오젠의 청정 에너지 솔루션을 배치하는 동시에 지역 경제를 활성화할 수 있는 길을 열었다“고 덧붙였다.

The collaboration aims to harness Mexico’s rich solar potential, advancing regional economies and bridging energy markets

 

Heliogen, Inc. (Heliogen), a leading provider of AI-enabled concentrating solar energy technology, today announced a joint development agreement with Omanor, a real estate developer of logistics & energy infrastructure assets, and provider of permitting and off-take services for renewable energy projects in the states of Baja California Norte and Sonora, Mexico.The agreement includes developing a concentrating solar power plant leveraging Heliogen’s technology.

Heliogen and Omanor are progressing through the first of four phases, which evaluates an existing zoned and permitted piece of land in Sonora, Mexico to host the first project. Upon completion of Phase 1, cost analyses and feasibility studies specific to sizing and generation capacity will commence. Omanor will support Heliogen in preliminary site due diligence and identifying and securing initial commercial energy customers.

In partnering with Omanor, Heliogen unlocks an expanded market in Mexico, and gains the on-the-ground expertise needed to initiate projects of scale. The region boasts high solar resources and direct access to the Pacific Ocean to support various industrial processes, includingdesalination and hydrogen production.
