[미국] NSF, 첨단 플라스틱 파이프 및 소재 테스트 연구소인 PSI랩 인수

물산업 분야 서비스 범위 확대해 물 관련 제품 품질·성능·안전 강화

NSF는 지난 3월 18일 플라스틱 파이프, 파이프 소재 및 기타 고분자 및 복합 제품을 전문으로 하는 미국 기반의 첨단 제품 테스트 및 컨설팅 연구소인 PSI랩(PSILab, Inc.)을 인수했다고 발표했다.

ISO 17025 인증을 받은 최첨단 실험실을 갖춘 PSI랩은 콜로라도주 롱몬트에 위치해 실험실 테스트, 고장 분석 및 컨설팅 서비스를 제공하고 있다. 이번 인수로 기존 NSF 고객사들은 소재 특성 및 대구경 파이프 테스트, 완제품 정수압 및 파열 테스트, 광범위한 제품 고장 분석 및 플라스틱 파이프 컨설팅을 포함한 새로운 테스트 서비스를 이용할 수 있게 됐다.

PSI랩의 고객은 NSF가 제공하는 서비스를 활용할 수 있으며, NSF 인증을 원하는 대구경 파이프 제조업체는 NSF와 직접 협력해 제품을 테스트함으로써 테스트 과정을 간소화할 수 있다.

NSF Acquires PSILab, Inc., an Advanced Plastic Pipe and Materials Testing Laboratory

The acquisition extends NSF’s service offerings in the water industry, furthering its commitment to the quality, performance and safety of water products globally.

 

NSF, the leading global public health and safety organization, announced today the acquisition of PSILab, Inc., a US-based advanced product testing and consulting laboratory specializing in plastic pipe, pipe materials and other polymeric and composite products.

An ISO 17025-accredited state-of-the-art laboratory, PSILab, Inc. is located in Longmont, Colorado and provides laboratory testing, failure analysis and consulting services. As a result of the acquisition, existing NSF clients will have added access to new testing services, including material properties and large-diameter pipe testing, finished goods hydrostatic pressure and burst testing, extensive product failure analysis and plastic pipe consulting.

Clients of PSILab, Inc. will be able to take full advantage of NSF’s global offerings to the water industry. Manufacturers of large diameter pipes seeking NSF certification will now be able to experience a more streamlined testing process, working directly with NSF to test their products.
