일본·아시아·EMEA·북남미서 사업기반 구축 노력

최적 솔루션 개발·제공하기 위한 시스템도 강화

쿠리타 워터 인더스트리(Kurita Water Industries)는 연결 자회사(Consolidated Subsidiary)인 쿠리타 캐나다와 수처리 화학약품 제조 및 판매 업체인 KCI의 자회사인 키텍 워터 매니지먼(Keytech Water Management)가 4월1일 합병했다고 밝혔다.

쿠리타 그룹은 중기경영계획 PSV-27(Pioneering Shared Value 2027)에 따라, 다양한 산업을 통한 사회와의 공유가치 창출을 목표로 하고 있으며, 특히 CSV 사업에서 솔루션 확대와 글로벌 수평적 전개를 핵심 추진과제 중 하나로 설정하고 있다. 또한 이를 추진하기 위해 일본, 아시아, EMEA, 북남미 각 지역에서 사업 기반을 구축하고 고객 및 사회문제 해결을 위해 노력하고 있으며, 최적의 솔루션을 개발하고 제공하기 위한 시스템을 강화하고 있다.

이러한 배경에서 캐나다 서부지역에 진출한 KCI와 다양한 산업이 집중돼 있는 캐나다 동부지역에 진출한 키텍 워터 매니지먼트의 사업자원을 최적화하기 위해 양사를 합병해 KCI라는 새로운 법인을 설립했다. 쿠리타 그룹은 새로운 조직으로서 고객의 다양한 문제에 대응하는 다양한 솔루션을 신속하게 제공하기 위한 사업 기반을 강화함으로써 고객 친밀도 향상을 위해 노력해 캐나다에서의 사업을 더욱 확대할 것이다.

쿠리타그룹은 글로벌 사업을 더욱 확대하기 위해 각 지역의 사업 기반을 지속적으로 강화하고 성장 기회를 확대해 나갈 것이며, 물절약을 돕는 CSV 사업, 온실가스 배출 저감, 폐기물 재활용, 자원 투입 감소 등 다양한 솔루션을 개발하고 제공함으로써 지속 가능한 사회 구현을 위해 노력할 것이다.

Amalgamation of Water Treatment Companies in Canada to Strengthen Business Foundation

 

Kurita Water Industries, Ltd. (Head office: Nakano-ku, Tokyo; President: Hirohiko Ejiri; hereinafter "Kurita") announced that Kurita Canada Inc. (KCI; Head office: British Columbia, Canada), a consolidated subsidiary mainly engaged in the sale of water treatment chemicals in Canada, and Keytech Water Management (KTWM; Head office: Ontario, Canada), a wholly owned subsidiary of KCI mainly engaged in the manufacture and sale of water treatment chemicals in the same country, have amalgamated on April 1, 2024 (in east Canadian time) .

In the medium-term management plan Pioneering Shared Value 2027 (PSV-27) through fiscal 2027, the Kurita Group aims to create shared value with society through various industries and sets the expansion of solutions, particularly in the CSV business(*1), and their globally horizontal deployment, as one of the key initiatives. In addition, to promote these initiatives, we have been addressing to solve customers and social issues by developing our business foundation in each region of Japan, Asia, EMEA, and North and South America to strengthen our system for flexibly creating and providing optimal solutions.

Regarding these backgrounds, to optimize the business resources of KCI, operating in the western Canada, and KTWM, operating in the eastern Canada where is concentrated various industries, these two companies have amalgamated to launch new entity of KCI. By strengthening the business foundation to rapidly address multiple solutions responding to various issues of customers as the new organization, the Kurita Group will work to improve customer intimacy, aiming to expand our business in Canada further.

The outline of the amalgamated company and two companies subject to the amalgamation can be referred as follows.

To further expand its business globally, the Kurita Group will continue to strengthen its business foundation in each region and expand growth opportunities, as well as will work towards realizing a sustainable society by creating and providing various solutions, including the CSV business to help water conservation, reduction of GHG emissions, recycling of waste, and reduction of resource input.
