글로벌 소재 솔루션 제조업체인 트린지오(Trinseo)는 4월 9일(현지시각) 과불화화합물(PFAS) 혹은 할로겐화 첨가제를 사용하지 않고 제조된 제품(EMERGE™ PC/ABS 7360E65 resins)을 발표했다. 

많은 PFAS 화학물질은 난연성 특성뿐 아니라 열과 기름, 물에 대한 저항성을 위해 사용된다. 이번 제품은 중요 성능 특성을 유지하면서 특히 가전기기 및 전기 산업에서 PFAS 사용을 줄여야 한다는 수요와 규제 압력을 해결한다. 또한, 아시아태평양 시장에 먼저 출시되며, IT 장비, 전자 전기 제품, 배터리 충전기, 전압 안정기 등 다양한 분야에서 활용될 것으로 기대된다. 

EMERGE™ 8600PR과 EMERGE™ 7360E65는 모두 사용 후 재활용(PCR) 기질을 사용하는 동시에 새 재료와 유사한 성능을 유지한다. 트린소의 제조 과정에는 의도적으로 PFAS가 추가되지 않으며 재활용된 성분은 가전기기 산업에서 폐기물 감소, 탄소 배출량 감소 및 재활용을 촉진할 수 있다. 

EMERGE™ PC 8600PV 및 8600PR 난연성 제품의 주요 기능으로는 △제조공정 중 할로겐화 첨가제 미사용 △모든 색상에 대한 UL94 V0 등급(1.5㎜) △고온 저항 △광택/무광택 마감 △재활용 성분 △우수한 치수 안정성 △뛰어난 내충격성 △광폭 처리 △UV 저항 등이 있다.

EMERGE™ PC/ABS 7360E65 난연성 제품의 주요 기능으로는 △모든 색상에 대한 UL94 V2 등급(0.5㎜) △뛰어난 열 안정성 △65% 재활용성분 △치수 안정성 등이 있다.

SHANGHAI--April 9, 2024-- Trinseo (Trinseo, or the “Company”) (NYSE: TSE), a specialty material solutions provider, today announces its new offering of flame-retardant EMERGE™ PC 8600PV and 8600PR resins, as well as EMERGE™ PC/ABS 7360E65 resins, manufactured without the use of per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) or halogenated additives.

Many PFAS chemicals are commonly used for their important flame-retardant properties, as well as their resistance to heat, oil, stain, grease, and water. These new products maintain those critical performance attributes while addressing the growing demand and regulatory pressures to reduce the use of PFASs, especially in the consumer electronics and electrical industries.

These products will first be launched in the Asia-Pacific market, suitable for applications in a variety of fields such as IT equipment, electronic and electrical products, battery chargers, and voltage stabilizers.

Both EMERGE™ 8600PR and EMERGE™ 7360E65 use post-consumer recycled (PCR) substrates, while maintaining performance similar to that of virgin materials. There is no intentionally added PFAS in the manufacturing process at Trinseo, and the recycled content facilitates waste reduction, carbon footprint reduction, and recycling in the consumer electronics industry.
