식품 알레르기는 15만 명의 미국인에게 영향을 미치고 있다. 알레르기 연보의 12월호에 발표 된 새로운 연구 조사에 의하면, 천식 및 면역학, 알레르기의 미국대학의 과학저널, 천식 및 면역학 (ACAAI), 농약과 수돗물은 부분적으로 책임이 있다고 볼 수 있다. 그 연구는 다이클로로패놀(dichlorophenols)의 높은 수준과 농약에 사용된 화학물질과 염소로 물을 소독하기 위해 사용된 화학물질은 인간의 몸에서 발견했을 때 식품 알레르기와 관련 있다고 밝혔다.
Food allergies are on the rise, affecting 15 million Americans. And according to a new study published in the December issue of Annals of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the scientific journal of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI), pesticides and tap water could be partially to blame. The study reported that high levels of dichlorophenols, a chemical used in pesticides and to chlorinate water, when found in the human body, are associated with food allergies.
