미국의 AWWA는 수처리관련 교육자료인 Water Treatment Operator Training Handbook을 발간했다. 이는 3차 최신 개정판으로 인증협회에서 규정한 운전자들이 필수적으로 알아야할 수처리 관련 모든 분야의 지식을 통합 정리한 것으로 수질규정, 안전 사항, 모든 수처리 공정의 소개, 검사 및 데이터 관리 등을 포함하고 있다.
이번 개정판에는 멤브레인 기술 및 연구실험 목적의 테스트 사항이 추가적으로 소개되었다. 총 260 페이지로 구성되어 있으며 AWWA 홈페이지 online store에서 88불에 (멤버 할인가는 57불) 구입가능하다.

AWWA announces revision of its Water Treatment Operator Training Handbook
The American Water Works Association has announced a thorough revision of the Water Treatment Operator Training Handbook, AWWA’s popular operator training and on-the-job reference, according to a press release.
The updated handbook is now available in AWWA’s online store.
This third edition of the handbook incorporates operator certification knowledge requirements as defined in the Associated Boards of Certification need-to-know criteria, including regulations, safety practices and all the processes and procedures of water treatment operations, stated the release.
The updated handbook also has expanded chapters on membrane technology and laboratory testing and protocol.
The handbook, originally authored by Nicholas G. Pizzi, was revised and supplemented by William C. Lauer, an internationally recognized authority on drinking water health effects and treatment methods and author or editor of 21 books and over 70 articles on these subjects, noted the release.
