ASPE Announces Staff Changes

The American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE) is pleased to announce two personnel changes effective July 1. Former Director of Membership, Stacey Kidd, has been appointed Director of Membership & Meetings, and former Education Coordinator, Pamela Rosenberg, has been promoted to the newly created position of Manager of Education & Certification. These moves were made necessary by the departure of long-time Managing Director/Director of Education & Meetings, Cliff Reis, who will continue to work part-time for ASPE through September to help Stacey and Pam transition into their new positions.

Jim Kendzel, MPH, CAE, ASPE Executive Director/CEO notes, ¡°It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Cliff, and we wish him well in the future. Cliff was instrumental in growing our education and conference programs and increasing participant satisfaction levels. With change comes opportunity, and as always, our ASPE team has stepped up to ensure that the impact of losing Cliff will be minimized and that we will continue to provide the level of service that our members have come to expect.¡±
In her new role, Stacey will be responsible for the logistical planning and execution of ASPE¡¯s two major professional development events: the ASPE Technical Symposium and the ASPE Convention & Exposition, serving as the primary point of contact with hotels, convention centers, vendors, and other service providers. She will continue performing the responsibilities of her previous position as Director of Membership, which she held for seven years, including the development and hands-on implementation of all activities of ASPE¡¯s Membership Services Department. Still working closely with Stacey is Jinnie Yoo, ASPE¡¯s Membership & Meetings Coordinator, who will take on additional responsibilities, including managing ASPE¡¯s Fellows Program, the Alfred Steele Scholarship, and ASPE¡¯s Mentor Program.

¡°ASPE members have become accustomed to first-class meeting experiences, and in this role I will work to deliver meetings that exceed those expectations,¡± Stacey says. ¡°Collaboration with my colleagues will be integral to the achievement of this position¡¯s goals, and I look forward to working with the other members of the ASPE staff to ensure the success of the Society¡¯s events.¡±

Prior to joining ASPE, Stacey served as the Marketing Manager for the National Association of Realtors (NAR) in Chicago, where she implemented annual marketing plans for NAR¡¯s programs. She has worked for several other associations in Chicago, including Bostrom Corp., the Warehousing Education and Research Council, and the Government Finance Officers Association. Stacey graduated from the University of Wisconsin?Stevens Point with a Bachelor of Science in Communication, and she earned her Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communication from Roosevelt University.

As ASPE¡¯s new Manager of Education & Certification, Pam will transition ASPE¡¯s professional certification programs?including the Certified in Plumbing Design (CPD) and Certified in Plumbing Design Technician (CPDT) certifications and the Green Plumbing Design (GPD) certificate?from the Membership Services Department to the Education Department and oversee the future administration and development of these programs. She will continue managing all education programs, including conference technical sessions, workshops, and online training. Pam also will be responsible for overseeing ASPE¡¯s social media activities and serving as the staff liaison to the ASPE Young Engineers (AYE) special-interest group.

¡°ASPE¡¯s certification programs recognize plumbing industry professionals with advanced design skills and help enhance the profession of plumbing engineering,¡± Pam says. ¡°I am very excited about this opportunity to help fulfill ASPE¡¯s strategic goal to develop further education and professional development programs for our members and others in the plumbing industry.¡±

Pam graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs and a Certificate in Business. Prior to joining ASPE, she worked as the Education and Special Projects Assistant for the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors as well as the Coordinator of Professional Education and Corporate Relations at the Northwestern University School of Law.
