| [미국] EU와 수처리 상호협력 협정 진전
유럽 수처리 협회와 미국 수질관리 협의회간의 긴밀한 협력 활동을 꾀하는 계획이 '굉장히 긍정적으로' 검토, 진전되고 있다고 언급되었다.
본 협정의 의도는 양자간 공통의 목적을 세우고 수처리의 방법, 기술을 개선하는 것에 있다고 알려졌다.
그 중 하나는 기술자, 설비전문가, 판매직의 훈련과 인증을 체계화하여 전세계 및 자국내 시장에 공급하는 수처리 설비의 윤리적인, 실용적인, 규제에 적합한, 기술적인 측면을 향상시키겠다는 것에 목적이 있다.

EU links with US for water treatment
An initiative that would result in the European Water Treatment Association working more closely with the US-based Water Quality Association has been described as “moving ahead extremely positively”.
The intention is to establish mutual objectives that would help to advance the causes of water treatment.
One objective is to introduce training and certification for technicians, installers and sales people to cover technical, regulatory, practical and ethical aspects of supply and service of water treatment equipment for both domestic and commercial applications.
An online system could be available across the EU within three or four years, the statement said.
Due to the number of countries within the EU, there are currently many different education programmes in place and the creation of a single set of qualifications is a main priority.
The initiative also aims to raise awareness of the benefits of water treatment across Europe both parties are currently examining the best methods.
EWTA chairman Mike Pickavance said the Aquatech event in Amsterdam in November would be the next opportunity to take the collaboration to its next level.
He encouraged more companies to join his organisation to add further strength to support the joint venture and further the case of water treatment.
