Global water research efforts to be enhanced with new alliance
A formal research alliance with Johns Hopkins University's Bloomberg School of Public Health has been announced by MWH, a company specializing in strategic consulting, environmental engineering and construction services, to enhance its global client research capabilities.

As part of the alliance, the Research Group at MWH will relocate its laboratory to the Center for Water and Health research facility within the Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore.

MWH's research group maintains a multi-disciplinary staff of scientists, engineers and technicians specializing in fields such as environmental and civil engineering, microbiology, chemistry, and environmental sciences.

The group focuses on providing innovative, sustainable solutions to global environmental issues and natural resource limitations by conducting desktop-, bench-, pilot- and demonstration-scale investigations needed to support sustainability science.

Further, the group's work focuses on solving client specific issues, conducting overarching research that serves a collaborative group of clients facing similar issues or supporting regulatory development at the federal and state levels.

During the multi-year alliance, MWH and Johns Hopkins, a company specializing in independent and original research, engineers and scientists will investigate the challenges associated with the world's megatrends that continue to drive increasingly complex environmental and public health issues.

The Johns Hopkins University's Bloomberg School of Public Health's Center for Water and Health, directed by Kellogg Schwab, Ph.D., aims to advance the studies of drinking water, water treatment, wastewater, and natural water systems for the 21st century in the U.S. and internationally.

The school is currently ranked as the number-one graduate school in the field of public health by U.S. News and World Report and has a presence in more than 130 countries.

Joe Jacangelo, Ph.D., director of research at MWH, has served as an adjunct faculty member at Johns Hopkins for twelve years. Additional members of the Research Group at MWH will receive appointments with the school as visiting scientists.
