3차배수처리와 슬러지 관리 기능을 추가한 바레인 Tubli처리장 200,000 ㎥/D의 확장은 시설의 총 용량의 2배가 된다. 5년간의 걸친 설계·시공·운영 등의 계약의 사전자격심사는 이달 초에 오픈했다.

Gulf funders back local contractors for Tubli WWTP
Local contractors will be in the driving seat for one of the Gulf’s largest wastewater treatment contracts, after Saudi and Kuwaiti state funders agreed to back the project in exchange for domestic company access.
The 200,000m³/d expansion to the Tubli WWTP in Bahrain will double the overstretched facility’s total capacity, as well as adding tertiary treatment and sludge management capability. Prequalification for a five-year design-build-operate contract opened earlier this month.
Funding for the design and construction portion of the contract will come from two state vehicles – the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development and the Saudi Fund for Development.
As part of the funding agreement, all bidders for the DBO contract must either be Saudi or Kuwaiti contractors, or joint ventures featuring partners from either of both of those countries.
