High levels of methane found in upstate New York wells
TROY, N.Y. — A new U.S. Geological Survey study has found high levels of methane gas in some upstate New York state water wells, according to an article by The Republic.
The study found that 15 percent of groundwater samples from 66 household wells across south-central New York contain methane levels high enough to necessitate remediation, the article reported.
