SVT는 UK 기준으로 만들어진 물을 보증하기 위해 trace metal monito 사용을 계획하고 있다.

SVT와 Modern Water은 자연적으로 발생한 trace metal에 대한 온라인 탐지와 식수 기준에 맞는 탐사 범위를 제공하는 OVA7000장치를 이용하여 3개월간 시험했다.

SVT는 시험 후 장치를 구입했고, 효율적으로 사용하기 위해 잠재 지역을 조사하고 있다. 

Modern Water은 실험 결과를 실험실에서 기다려야 하는 옛날 방식에서 monitor로 대체 되었다고 밝혔다. 

UK utility Severn Trent Water (SVT) is looking to roll out a trace metal monitor at one of its water treatment works with the aim of ensuring water produced consistently meets UK standards.

A three-month trial saw SVT working with Modern Water using its OVA7000 equipment, which provides online detection for naturally occurring trace metals, with detection limits below recognised drinking water standards.

SVT then purchased the unit following the trial and is currently investigating potential areas for deployment.

Modern Water said using the monitor replaces a traditional method whereby utilities wait for test results from laboratories, which can lead to time delays.

Earlier this month Modern Water released its financial results, showing growth in its monitoring equipment division, up to ￡3.5 million in 2013 compared to ￡3.4 million in 2012 (see WWi story).

Neil Townend, managing director for Modern Water’s Monitoring Division, said: “This is the first OVA7000 installed for drinking water quality in the UK. Traditionally the UK water companies have relied on laboratory analysis or alternative on-line methods for trace metals detection."
