[미국] AWWA, 미국 물 수출 돕고자 기금 수여

미국 상무부의 시장개발 협력 프로그램이 미국수도협회(AWWA)에 물 부문 수출 활동을 돕는 목적으로 총 30만 달러에 이르는 기금 상금을 전달할 예정이다. 이 상은 3년 이상 동안 미국 수출로부터 140만 달러의 견적액을 만들어낼 것으로 기대된다.

AWWA 세일즈 디렉터인  Jane Johnson은 “미 상무부가 준 이 상은 미국 물 부문 제조업 수출이 그들의 제품과 서비스를 해외 시장에 제공하는 것을 도울 수 있도록 AWWA에 권한을 부여한다”며 “더 나은 물을 통해 더 나은 세상을 채우고자 하는 우리의 목표를 향한 중요한 단계이다”라고 말했다.

 

 

 

The U.S. Department of Commerce's Market Development Cooperator Program will be providing the American Water Works Association (AWWA) a funding award totaling nearly $300,000 to better help facilitate U.S. water sector exports. The award is expected to generate an estimated $14 million in U.S. exports over three years.

"This award from the U.S. Department of Commerce empowers AWWA to help U.S. water sector manufacturers export their products and services to overseas markets," said AWWA Director of Sales Jane Johnson. "It's an important step forward as we fulfill our vision of a better world through better water."

AWWA is among eight non-profit organizations receiving a total of $2.2 million in awards. The Department of Commerce provides the awards to support projects aimed at increasing U.S. exports, creating jobs and strengthening America's global competitiveness.

"Nearly one-third of America's economic growth since mid-2009 has been driven by exports. More and more industry groups, like AWWA, are recognizing the importance of exporting," said U.S. Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade Stefan M. Selig.

"Since 2009, the number of jobs supported by exports has grown by 1.6 million to more than 11.3 million -- the highest in 20 years," he said. "Our Market Development Cooperator Program awards to organizations like AWWA are part of President Obama's government-wide strategy to strengthen America's economy by increasing exports."
