Poseidon Water는 최근 IDE 테크놀로지가 칼스배드 담수화 프로젝트에 압력용기와 역삼투 멤브레인을 제공하는 업체로  Protec Arisawa와 Dow Water & Process Solutions를 선정했다고 밝혔다. 이는 서반구에서 가장 큰 해수담수화 플랜트 프로젝트이다.

담수화 과정의 주요 요소 두 개 중 하나는 깨끗하고 신선한 식수를 만들기 위해 물 입자로부터 섞인 물질들과 소금을 분리하는 필터로서의 멤브레인 수행이고, 다른 하나는 이러한 멤브레인들을 보관하는 압력용기이다. Dow 멤브레인은 최근 Protec에서 제조한 압력용기와 친밀하게 작동될 것이다.

 

 

 

Poseidon Water recently announced that IDE Technologies (IDE) has selected Protec Arisawa and Dow Water & Process Solutions to provide the pressure vessels and reverse osmosis (RO) membranes for the Carlsbad Desalination Project -- the Western Hemisphere's largest seawater desalination plant.

 

Both key elements of the desalination process, the membranes act as the filter that separates salt and other impurities from water molecules to create clean and fresh drinking water, and the pressure vessels house these membranes. The Dow membranes will work hand-in-glove with the pressure vessels recently manufactured by Protec.

 

Protec is considered a global specialist for the design and manufacturing of Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) pressure vessels for membrane filtration systems. The unique design of the company's FRP pressure vessels will provide the Carlsbad plant with a long-lasting and energy-efficient product that is critical to the desalination process.

 

Poseidon Water has made an effort to involve as many local companies in the Carlsbad Desalination Project as possible, and the selection of the City of Vista based Protec continues that commitment. During the three-year construction process, the desalination project is supporting an estimated 2,500 local jobs and infusing $350 million into the local economy.

 

The historic Carlsbad Desalination Project will bring the largest, most technologically advanced and energy-efficient seawater desalination plant in the West to San Diego County. The project is scheduled to be completed and operational late 2015, at which time the plant will provide water for nearly 112,000 San Diego County households.
