캘리포니아 주지사 Jerry Brown이 주의 수자원 관리 이사회와 공공보건부에 재활용수의 사용을 이끌 추가적인 방안을 고안하도록 요청하는 6억8천700만 달러 가뭄 안심 법안에 서명했다.

이 법안은 2015년 7월 1일까지 공공보건부가 새 지하수 보충 규제를 적용하도록 요청하고, 저수지의 자원이 고갈된 곳의 긴급 보수를 위한 채권형 펀드 발행을 포함하는 것으로, 양당의 국회의원들에 의해 통과됐다.

주지사는 “국회의원들은 지자체들이 직면한 물위기에 대한 엄청난 압박을 해결하는 것을 돕기 위해 투표했다”고 말했다.

 

 

 

California governor, Jerry Brown, has signed a US$ 687 million drought relief bill that calls on the State Water Resources Control Board and Department of Public Health to devise additional measures to bring on the use of recycled water.

 

 The bill was passed by a bipartisan group of legislators. It included bond funds for emergency construction where reservoirs were approaching depletion and calls for the California Department of Public Health to adopt new groundwater replenishment regulations by July 1 2015. "Legislators across the aisle have now voted to help hard-pressed communities that face water scarcities,'' the governor said.

 

The bill also makes statutory changes to tighten up enforcement of existing water rights laws with increased penalties for illegally diverting water during drought conditions.
