덴마크의 엔지니어링, 설계, 자문 전문회사인 Ramboll사가 미국 기반의 환경건강 자문회사 ENVIRON을 인수했다.

Ramboll사는 이 인수에 따라 21개국의 직원에 1천500명 이상의 환경건강과학 전문가를 추가하게 됐다고 설명했다. 또한, 이 인수는 Ramboll사를 2천700명 의 전문가를 보유한 세계 상위 10대 수준의 환경건강 및 세계 물 문제 자문기업으로 이끌어 줄 뿐만 아니라 전 세계 35개 나라에 1만2천500명 의 직원을 둔 거대 기업으로 만들 것으로 기대된다.

 

 

 

Danish engineering, design and consultancy firm, Ramboll has acquired the U.S. based environmental and health consultancy, ENVIRON.

 

The company explained that the acquisition adds over 1500 environmental and health science specialists to its staff in 21 countries.

 

The acquisition is also said to position Ramboll among the top 10 leading environmental consultancies globally with 2700 experts working within environment, health and water worldwide and a total staff close to 12,500 employees in 35 countries.

 

ENVIRON’s industrial wastewater business has completed over 1000 industrial wastewater projects in 32 countries around the globe. According to the company it has worked cooperatively with industry to evaluate and select the most cost-effective and innovative technologies - including developing three patents for biological wastewater treatment.

 

According to Ramboll, it too has many years of experience with all types of water and wastewater consulting services and the design of water and wastewater treatment systems all over the world, including the Umea in wastewater treatment plant in northern Sweden (pictured).

 

“Strengthening our portfolio within environmental services and expanding into new attractive regions, specifically North America, has been a strategic priority for us since 2012,” commented Ramboll Group CEO Jens-Peter Saul.

 

ENVIRON CEO, Stephen Washburn, added: “Joining forces with Ramboll puts us in an even stronger position to continue working on the most challenging environmental and human health problems, including the implications of global urbanisation, climate change and resource scarcity. The environmental and human health challenges facing society have never been greater.”

 

Ramboll said that with ENVIRON on board, Ramboll’s presence will be particularly strong in the Nordics, North America, the UK, Continental Europe (including France, Germany and Italy), Middle East and India, supplemented by a significant representation in Asia, Australia, South America and Sub-Saharan Africa.

 

At the time of the acquisition, the combined revenue of Ramboll and ENVIRON exceeds DKK 10 billion (USD 1.7 billion), of which 34% will be generated outside the Nordics.
