미국 환경보호청(EPA)는 최근 텍사스 물개발이사회에 깨끗한 물 프로젝트 지원의 명목으로 6천350만 달러 이상의 기금을 수여했다고 발표했다. 이번 기금은 지역 지자체가 수질 및 인프라를 향상시키는 것을 돕기 위해 저금리의 신축적인 대출을 제공하는 텍사스주의 깨끗한 물 리볼빙론 펀드(CWSRF)로 수여됐다.

이번 기금은 텍사스주가 폐수향상과 관련된 각 지자체 및 주 에이전시에 대출 또는 다른 유형의 재정적인 지원을 제공하는 데 사용될 예정이다.

 

 

 

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently announced that it has awarded the Texas Water Development Board a grant of more than $63.5 million to fund clean-water projects in the state.

 

The grant goes to the state's Clean Water Revolving Loan Fund (CWSRF), which provides low-interest, flexible loans to communities to help them improve water quality and infrastructure.

 

These funds will be used by the state of Texas to provide loans and other types of financial assistance to communities and state agencies for wastewater improvements.

 

This will help improve water quality in streams, lakes, rivers, and bays, ultimately benefiting aquatic life and sources of drinking water. It can also contribute to improved public health by reducing hazards such as raw sewage discharges.

 

For more than 25 years, the CWSRF has served as the nation's largest source of water-quality financing, helping communities improve water quality, protect aquatic wildlife, protect and restore drinking water sources, and preserving waters for recreational use.

 

Accordingly, since 1987, CWSRFs have provided $105.4 billion to communities through 34,900 low-cost loans.
