글로벌 크루즈여행 전문기업인 로열 캐리비안 크루즈(Royal Caribbean Cruises)는 칼곤 가르본(Calgon Carbon)의 자회사인 하이드 마린(Hyde Marine)과 7대의 평형수처리 시스템 공급 계약을 체결했다.

하이드 가디언(Hyde GUARDIAN)과 항구 간 침입종(invasive species) 확산을 예방하기 위해  선박의 평형수 처리에 골드 BWTS(Gold BWTS)는 여과 및 UV소독 방식을 이용한다.

 

 

 

Global cruise vacation company Royal Caribbean Cruises has contracted Calgon Carbon subsidiary Hyde Marine to supply seven ballast water treatment systems.

 

This award for seven retrofit installations will bring the total number of Hyde GUARDIAN and GUARDIAN Gold systems fitted on RCL group vessels to twenty-seven, including both new builds and retrofits.

 

The Hyde GUARDIAN Gold BWTS uses filtration and ultraviolet disinfection to treat ships' ballast water to prevent the spread of invasive species from port to port.

 

Hyde Marine has completed retrofits on over 10 RCL vessels, and the orders issued for this next series of vessels will ensure the supply of treatment systems through 2016 in accordance with the compliance dates for each vessel.

 

Michael Jones, vice president supply chain management, Royal Caribbean Cruises, said: “Our crews are pleased with how easily and reliably the system operates, and with how seamlessly they integrate with existing automation systems.”
