| ARCADIS Geraghty & Miller Awarded Water and Wastewater Engineering Contract by Florida Governmental Utility Authority

[PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla.] ARCADIS Geraghty & Miller, Inc., an environmental and engineering services consulting firm, was recently awarded a contract to provide engineering and consulting services at five utility systems for the Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA). Under this contract, ARCADIS Geraghty & Miller will assist with planning, engineering, and implementation of capital improvement projects for FGUA's water and wastewater systems in Brevard, Collier, Hillsborough, Osceola, Polk, and Sarasota counties.
Services currently underway include the management and implementation of infiltration/inflow reduction programs for wastewater systems in Barefoot Bay, Carrollwood, Golden Gate, and Poinciana. The firm is also providing planning and design services for the expansion of a Poinciana wastewater treatment plant.
FGUA is a public entity established to purchase and operate utilities for the public good. Their initial acquisition of 24 treatment plants in five water and wastewater utility systems represents the largest acquisition of private utilities by a public entity in Florida history. Throughout this acquisition process, ARCADIS Geraghty & Miller assisted FGUA by evaluating existing water and wastewater systems; preparing bond feasibility reports; assisting in price negotiations; and providing pre- and post-purchase engineering due diligence services.
