[UAE] 샤르자, 역삼투압 해수담수화 설치 계약 체결

UAE 샤르자 전력수자원공사(The Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority, SEARA)는 UAE(United Arab Emirates) 기반의 Alpha Utilities에 역삼투압 해수담수화 프로젝트를 수주하는 계약을 체결했다.

하루생산량 10,000㎥/일 프로젝트는 BOT(Build-Operate-Transfer) 방식으로 인도될 것이며, 푸자이라 (Fujairah)와 오만(Oman)을 경계로 하는 칼바(Kalba)에 위치하게 된다.
 

SEWA의 라시드 알렘(Rashid Alleem) 회장은 "이것은 샤르자의 두 번째 BOT 프로젝트이지만 SEWA의 경우 이번이 처음이며, 아이디어는 BOT 프로젝트 등을 장려하는 것"이라고 말했다.

『Construction Week』는 이 프로젝트가 Kalba Waterfront Mall 및 기타 서비스 시설 개발과 같은 향후 개발에 물을 제공할 계획의 일부라고 보고했다.

New desalination deal awarded in Sharjah to help mall development
   

SHARJAH, UAE July 25 - The Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA) has awarded United Arab Emirates (UAE) based Alpha Utilities a contract to build a seawater reverse osmosis project.

The 10,000 m3/day project will be delivered under a build-operate-transfer (BOT) arrangement and will be located at Kalba, which borders around Fujairah and Oman.
 
Rashid Alleem, chairman of SEWA, reportedly said: “This is the second BOT project in Sharjah but for SEWA this is the first, and the idea is to encourage such things now.”

Construction Week reported that the project is part of plan to provide water to upcoming developments, such as the Kalba Waterfront Mall and other hospitality developments.

The desalination project appears to be a first for Alpha Utilities, which describes itself as a specialist in “providing chilled water and sewage services”. Under current projects, it lists Skycourts Towers, an apartment complex in Dubai.
